Henry leaving him had thrown Alex for a loop, they had been good, things between them had been going really well. Alex had practically almost confessed to being in love with him and despite his running, Alex knew that Henry felt the same for him. Trying to organise his thoughts he started to make lists of everything he knew about the situation, a few things stood out more than others.
Alex loved Henry.
He felt forever about him.
His family supported them.
Henry loved Alex. Alex was positive that was the case, his brain analysing all their interactions and providing him with a wealth of evidence to support his supposition.
Henry had insisted things between them needed to be casual.
Princes aren't allowed to be gay.
Henry's family as a whole aren't supportive.
It didn't make Henry running away any easier to get over, but those main points on his lists had shown Alex exactly what was going on. Henry was running scared, not because he didn't love Alex and needed to get away from him, but because he did love him and felt like they couldn't make things work.
Armed with this knowledge, the resolve to try and make things work for them however they could and a pep talk from Nora Alex boarded a flight to London. On the flight Alex made a mental note of all his arguments, thought through all the things he could say to convince Henry to give them a chance, and then opened an app on his phone and started to put it all down for Henry to see.
Storming Kensington Palace hadn't been on his bucket list for the year, but to get to Henry he would do it as many times as necessary. Shaan had been unimpressed when Alex had first appeared, but he couldn't care less, as long as he got to tell Henry how he felt about him.
Arguing with Henry wasn't what Alex had wanted to do, he hadn't come all this way to fight with the man he loved, he had come to fight for him, for them. He had hoped that Henry would see that there was a path forward for them, even if it was still in the shadows for now.
He was overjoyed when Henry agreed to try, to fight for himself and for then, and they may have acted like children in their exuberance. After dancing with Henry and running around the museum, just having fun being in love, they had returned to Kensington.
Laying in Henry's superfluous monstrosity of a bed with Henry's head pillowed on his chest Alex spoke up. “I kind of made a PowerPoint to explain why we should go out.”
Henry let out a small laugh before reaching for Alex's phone. Alex unlocked it and opened the presentation he made on the plane. The first slide was already queued up ready for Henry to scroll through his ideas.
Why # FirstPrince needs to be a thing!
Henry started to laugh even as Alex went off on a tangent about it being their couple name and how they should really check out some of the real person fanfiction about them.
