“Ha, finally caught you.” Robin watched as quizzically as Red Arrow moved past some of the other party goers to stand next to him.
“Did you need to speak with me about something? I've been here all evening.” In fact Roy hadn't been far from him for most of the party. If he had needed something why hadn't he mentioned it earlier?
“Oh I don't need to speak with you. But maybe you had better look up.” Mistletoe of course. Right over his head. Before the party had started Tim had mapped out all of the mistletoe in the room and had then spent his time carefully avoiding it. Some of his teammates were far to pushy to allowed that kind of encouragement. The mistletoe currently above his head hadn't been on his map. It hadn't been there earlier, nor was it hung the same way as the rest of the mistletoe. No this sprig was attached to an arrow that ad been shot up into the ceiling.
“That has got to be considered cheating.”
“It's mistletoe. You're standing under it. That's all that counts.”Roy leaned in close and whispered into his ear. “You've been avoiding the stuff all night, Timmy. Relax and live a little. It's just one kiss.”
Tim's mouth had gone dry. Having Roy so close, whispering in his ear, the very thought of kissing him was a little overwhelming. “Just...” Tim had to pause to lick his lips and now he could feel Roy staring at his mouth. “Just one kiss?”
Roy reached up to cup his cheek. He ran his thumb over Tim's lips. “For now, Little Bird, for now.” Roy tilted Tim's chin up, leaned in and brought their mouths together.
