Céadaoin is for Pets
Merry Wednesday my doves! I remain
classics_lover hosting this week. Wednesday's theme is Pets. Maybe Peachblossom and Jumphave notions about proper care of Kel, maybe one of the Avengers acquires a kitten, go wild, er, domesticated!
Ahoy hoy my doves. I’m
classics_lover and today's theme is Hurt/Comfort. Prompts can be anything to do with the H/C trope. MAybe someone got a papercut and their SO is giving them extra temderness, maybe somone got bad news and their bff gets a tub of ice cream. Go wild.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Dragon Age, author's choice, no you can't keep a dragonling as a pet!
+ Author's choice (please no SPN), any, having a furry boss (canine or feline or other animal that is The Boss of the Human)
+ Tortall, Peachblossom and Jump and Daine and Kel, Kel understands most of what her horse and dog think but it's great to have a translator
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2021 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Fill, Original
Terri laughs at that saying because, hey, veterinarian and also hobby farmer and also animal rescuer because people can be cruel to those who are helpless. So she has Stripper, the Basset hound/Beagle mix, and whatever fosters are hanging around, plus the horses she shares with her best friend, Sophie - who's always prowling the woods and highways and downtown Orlando because of who (what) she is, bringing home strays ("How is it you can befriend animals? You're an apex predator. Don't they know that?"
Sophie shrugs, a fluid movement that involves her whole body. "I've never asked.").
Then there's Mato, her boyfriend, and James, his cousin - and they find more animals, and of course, everyone in town knows who she is and that she won't turn an animal away.
But Stripper sometimes growls at the newest, or at James' own dog, Sunka. When she growls at Sophie, Terri bites her lip but Sophie understands the old rescue dog. She goes belly up and whines like a pup until Stripper slobbers all over her. When Stripper crawls on top of her chest (and lies there, an anchor while she thoroughly cleans Sophie's face), Sophie tells Terri, "You gotta speak the language."
And Terri knows, as close as she is to these animals, and her friend (and her friend's pack - Sophie's family; Terri's family, too), she'll never be able to speak the language as well as a native speaker.
Oh, jealousy.
