Monday: Book Titles: Fantasy/SciFi
Hi! I’m
brumeier, and this week we’re going to be hitting the library shelves for some titles because I love me some books. Today’s theme is Book Titles: Fantasy/SciFi! Your prompts can be any book title that fits this theme, whether or not the actual book is in that genre.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Astro, Ensemble, Touched by Magic (Celine Jeanjean)
+ Stargate Atlantis, Any, The Atlantis Bloodline (C.A. Gray)
+ Any, Any, The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires (Molly Harper)
+ MI5|Spooks, Any, The Forbidden Zone (Tom Trott)
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2016 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Fill Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Summary: Willow embraces her magic and Hanukkah with equal enthusiasm.
Willow took the tea towel off the bowl of dough. She might be a witch now but some things were ingrained. Some things spoke of comfort and culture and of struggle. She turned the dough out and started to roll it.
Tara’s soft, floral perfume tickled Willow’s nose before her lover slipped her arms around her waist. The feel of Tara’s body pressing along the length of her back nearly made Willow forget the task at hand.
Tara rested her chin on Willow’s shoulder. “What are you doing?”
“Making Sufganiyot.”
“I have no idea what that is.”
“You do. They’re the jelly donuts we eat at Hanukkah.”
“Ah.” Tara let go and leaned on the counter. “I’m not the biggest fan of jelly donuts.”
“They get a bad rap, especially with that overly sweet glop they jam in there. Promise you, mine are better.” Willow powered her rolling pin through the dough.
“I’ll try them, of course since you made them.” Tara swept her long hair back with a smile. “I’m pretty sure the way to a witch’s heart is with sweets.”
Willow laughed. “True of the two witches in this room. Hand me the cutter.”
Tara passed her the round cookie cutter and watched Willow cut out rounds of dough, reroll the extras and squeeze out a couple more rounds.
“Now what?”
“Traditionally you’d put in some strawberry jam but I prefer raspberry. It’s just a little more tart to offset the sweetness. Want to help?”
“What do I need to do?”
Willow showed Tara how to dollop a little jam in the center of the rounds and how to seal it with another round of dough over top. Together they worked a little kitchen magic until all the Sufganiyot were formed. “And now they have to rest and raise before we can fry them.”
“How long does that take?”
“About forty-five minutes to an hour,” Willow replied.
Tara tugged her close. “I have an idea how to spend that time.”
“I can unwrap my Hanukkah gift now?” Willow grinned.
“And enjoy it all you want.”
Willow slipped her arms around Tara, kissing her softly. “Just what I wanted to hear.”

And these girls deserved so much better in canon.
And now I also want a jelly donut.
Re: Fill Buffy the Vampire Slayer
I want that donut too.
