Even though he calls it his home, Earth is still alien to him.

The hodgepodge of people and cultures. The aggression and wars. The willful ignorance.

In a way, they were so much like apes. Far, far below him.

But then -- there were those who gave their lives for those they loved. There were those who struggled not for personal gain, but for others' freedom. There were those who sought knowledge and took off the blinders.

There were the ordinary people who were so much more than they thought they were, and whose brilliant light couldn't help but shine.

They seemed so far above him that he seemed like the stupid ape.

The dichotomy was foreign, even after all these years. Earth was alien to him.

And he never quite forgot that.
