Martes - Rare Pairings

Hey, I'm still [livejournal.com profile] drabblewriter , and you're still stuck with me as your host. ^_^ Today's theme is rare pairings. Every fandom has that one OTP (or two or three) that everyone seems to ship, but what about all those other possibilities? Today is the time for these little-known couples to shine. ♥

Don't forget to follow the rules:
  • Post no more than three prompts per fandom and no more than five prompts in a row. If someone fills a prompt, you're more than welcome to post some more prompts later in the day.
  • No spoilers in prompts for at least seven days after the original airdate or publication date. If you have spoilers in your fic, please warn in bold and leave at least three spaces.
  • Show some love to the code monkeys and format your prompts correctly. Examples below:
  •           Supernatural, Dean/Crowley, coping
  •           Supernatural, Sam/Brady, first meeting
  •           Supernatural/Torchwood, Dean/Jack, 40 years in Hell vs. 2,000 years buried alive
If you don't see anything here that tickles your fancy, be sure to check out the Lonely Prompts.

He Wished John Hadn't | Stargate Atlantis, John or Rodney or Keller/Todd, author's choice

Atlantis has returned to her watery grave, taking John with her. Both felled by the replicator assault.

What little remains of the Atlantis expedition has been forced to take refuge where they can, though there is nowhere truly safe left in the galaxy. Rodney estimates that the rest of the Atlantian refugees will die within six months if the Daedalus doesn’t come for them.

He might last a little longer given his position as Todd’s consort, but he’s not sure he wants to. Todd doesn’t love him and he doesn’t love Todd, which makes it a strain to perform his duties as Todd’s ‘companion’. If John was still alive he’d rip him a new one. John should have never made Todd promise to look after him. If he hadn’t Rodney would have been able to sink beneath the waves with his lover and home. He’d be happier that way.

Wow! That is just heartbreaking. Such a well-intentioned John, and poor Rodney. Thank you so much for answering the prompt - I really enjoyed this.
