Monday - Crime

Good evening from England people of comment_fic! I'm this weeks guest host [livejournal.com profile] amavissem, today's theme is Crime which could be interpreted in the literal sense of breaking the law or in the sense of breaking a agreement or expected way of behaviour, hopefully one you can have fun with!

Examples for formatting your prompts:

- BBC's Sherlock, Sherlock/John, they've crossed the line from unconventional to commiting more crimes than they solve.

- Psych, Lassiter/Shawn, "It's not a crime! In some countries..."

- Supernatural, Dean/Castiel, Dean tries to explain that some rules are meant to be broken.

And here's a quick reminder of the rules:

-No more than three prompts per fandom.

-No more than five prompts at a time, though after you get one or more of your prompts filled, you are free to leave more.

-No spoilers in your prompts until a week after air date or publication.

-Warn for spoilers in your fic in bold and with at least three spaces above your fic.

If there's nothing here that catches your eye, feel free to go though our Lonely Prompts!

DC or Marvel, any hero, bailing their sidekick out of jail.

Arson Jim and Toro

[identity profile] ani-bester.livejournal.com 2010-08-08 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
(errr random golden Age note: JIm was a member of the NYPD.)

Jim sighed as he looked a the miserable figure curled up on the bench in the cell. Toro had a police jacket pulled around him, covering like a blanket. Jim saw the Chief's insignia and thanked god for the kindness of that man for at least the third time that day.

"Toro,"

Toro glanced at him but only saw the uniform. "Yes sir?" he asked in a small voice.

Jim shook his head. "Toro, it's me. C'mon lad, I know you'e seen me uniform before." Jim pulled out the cell keys from his pocket and unlocked the door.

"Jim!" Toro cried running over. Jim, knelt down and wrapped his arms around Toro.

"Jim I'm sorry I didn't mean to really, she just made me so ANGRY going on about you being a monster, and I told her to shut it, but she wouldn't and whooosh and I tried not to really and- I swear to god I wasn't trying to kill her! The fire didn't even go near her! Jim you gotta-"

"I believe you. So do the cops given there's not so much as a singe on her dress, lad. But you did set a fire in a public place."

Toro gave Jim a heartbreakingly guilty look. "I know. You warn me 'bout me temper all the time but-" Toro looked at Jim then looked at the keys.

"Are you busting me out?"

Jim rolled his eyes, a gesture he'd picked up from Toro. "No, I paid your bail and you are being released into my custody. The chief just let me go and fetch you as well, on the grounds that I am a cop."

"Oh," Toro said. "Um... was it expensive?"

Jim sighed, not wanting to add to the child's guilt but "Let's just say we'll need to find way to be creative with beans and rice."

"Sorry," Toro said again as Jim took his hand and lead him from jail.

"It's ok. I'm the one that's supposed to teach you to control your flames better. I'm sorry too, Toro."

Jim felt his hand squeezed harder. "Will they send me to jail?"

"For setting less than a foot of floor on fire? No I don't think so. Actual juvenile arsonists don't usually get sent to jail for that. But while we wait for your hearing, maybe you'd better pretend like your under house arrest so th judge can see you aren't running about setting the city on fire the way that bitch insists."

He caught Toro's grin of approval. "That bitch?"

Jim grinned at Toro as he lead him down the station hallway, "Oh yes, absolutely 'that bitch.' I'm very empted to tell Namor that she dumps trash into the ocean."

Toro laughed. "I think that might be cruel and unusual, Pappy."

Jim answered with his own laugh. "If you say so, Diapers."

"Don't call me that," Toro insisted with a glare at Jim and a quick look about to see if Jim had been overheard.

"Don't set floors on fire and I won't,o scow" Jim responded as he lead Toro from the station.

Hee! I haven't read too much of these characters, but this was great. I like how understanding Jim was. :)

Falling Apart (Jason and Bruce)

[identity profile] ani-bester.livejournal.com 2010-08-08 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
(I like this prompt!)

"Nothing? You're going to say nothing?"

Bruce looked down at Jason and simply grabbed the boy's arm and dragged him into the waiting limo.

"Fine, say nothing." Jason scowled, kicking at the back of the seat in front of him.

"Don't be a child," Bruce said in a flat voice. He stared out the window not even bothering to look at Jason.

"I am a child, you realize that right. Legally I'm a child."

Bruce said noting.

"It was just a stupid fight," Jason reasoned. Bruce heard him sit up a little. "They happen all the time on the street and-"

"You," Bruce hissed "are not on the street anymore and I am not training you to be some mindless hug who solves everything with his fists."

Jason's shocked looked derailed the rest of Bruce's lecture. He turned away again and found himself thinking of Dick.

"Wish I was on the street," he herd Jason muttered as the boy slouched down into his seat.

Bruce clenched his jaw to keep fro raising to the child's angry barb.

He and Jason sat in utter silence the rest of the drive home.

Ooh, this was perfect. I love the tension between Jason and Bruce. That period was really interesting.

Thanks!
