Yesterday I had my IUD inserted.

It was uncomfortable but not too painful. I'm chalking that up to the fact that I took an 800MG tablet of ibuprofen about 30 mins before my appt.

The IUD I had inserted is the Mirena. It is good for 5 years, or until I decide I want to try to get pregnant (which, honestly, I don't think I'm capable of doing 🤷🏾‍♀️)...and even then he said it wasn't an automatic thing because the whole reason I got this was to help prevent my precancer from turning into actual cancer, but that's something to think about when I'm at that point. He wants me now to concentrate on losing weight with the tips/suggestions he gave me at my last appt.

Anyway, this IUD is going to stay in for a minimum of 1 year. I see him again next month. That appt is either for an IUD check or to see if I need another biopsy in regards to the complex endometrial hyperplasia without atypia that I was diagnosed with. And another visit in 6 months, again for either an IUD check or the biopsy possibility.

If there's nothing wrong with me, I really don't want to have monthly dr visits unless it's absolutely necessary...I mean, I already have monthly dental visits while I get my mouth fixed up.
