Fill! SGA - Markham/Stackhouse & Lorne/Parrish - "...reception and orgy to follow"

For as unorthodox as Markham and Stackhouse were among the colony of Atlantis, there was something almost normal about their wedding. Lorne was used to trading negotiations being broken up by Stackhouse ogling off-world magistrates or catching Markham butt naked with an AWOL Genii soldier. But with cream-colored invitations pressed into their friends' hands, Markham and Stackhouse stood before all of Atlantis to take their vows.

The occasion was almost normal enough for Evan to block out the last words of the hand-written invitations, which read, "RSVP to the reception requested. RSVP to the post-wedding orgy required."

Evan reached over and took David's hand in his. "Beautiful job on the boutonnieres, Boo," he said.

David smiled back at him, and Evan swore he could get lost in David's eyes. At the front, Elizabeth stepped aside as Teyla got up to do a reading. But as far as Evan was concerned, no one else was around.

"I'd like it if that were us one day," David said, his voice barely loud enough for Evan to hear. There was a flush to his cheeks, and David looked at Evan through long, thick lashes. It was almost enough to take Evan's breath away.

But instead of responding, Evan raised their enclosed hands to his lips and kissed the back of David's hand. He could whisper his feelings against David's lips for a million years and still never convey how much he cared. But with each kiss, he hoped the feeling would absorb through David's skin, seep into his veins, and race through David's heart.

Evan looked back in time for Elizabeth to retake her place up front and couldn't help but smile when Stackhouse started to cry when they exchanged rings.

After passing him a handkerchief, Elizabeth started, "Very well. And now, by the power vested in-"

"Wait, wait, wait," Markham said, and the already silent room suddenly stopped. When Elizabeth turned to Markham, a quizzical look on her face, he added, "You didn't do the speak now or forever...thingy."

Though she looked slightly taken aback, Elizabeth gave him an easy smirk. "We're a little past that part, but very well." She cleared her throat and then looked out among the audience members. "Should anyone present know of any reason that this couple should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace."

There was a slight chuckle in the room. But before anyone could open their mouths, Markham turned and practically shouted, "And if even one of you motherfuckers says one word, I'll..." He turned to Stackhouse and shrugged, then again addressed the audience. "Well, I don't know, maybe arrange it for you to get space crabs or something."

"Space crabs?" a voice came from the crowd. A distinctly Scottish voice.

"And Carson," Markham continued, "they have to suffer for, like, a month or something before you agree to treat them."

More chuckles, which only grew when Markham gave Carson his attempt at an evil eye, and Carson responded, "Aye, love. One month."

"Why space crabs?" Stackhouse asked. "Why not just say they can't get laid for like a week or something?"

"Baby," Markham said, the affectation dripping from his mouth like honey, "I can't promise that. I have needs."

"Well, then," Elizabeth said above the laughter. "By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husbands. You may kiss now and then do whatever you would like to each other later, in the privacy of your quarters."

The kiss lasted far, far too long. It was only broken up when the crowd stood and clapped for the newlyweds. Evan reluctantly let go of David's hand and then helped move chairs to the nearby tables. He continued to help as the music played and people began milling about, only stopping when David stepped in his path.

"May I?" David asked as he held out a hand.

Evan smiled as the dulcet tones of a slow song filled the room. "I believe they're playing our song."

And they swayed together as the rest of the room fell away.
