Thursday: Play Titles
Hello, everyone. I’m
nagi_schwarz and your host for the week. Thanks to everyone who’s participated these last couple of weeks! Today's theme is play titles! Prompts can be musicals or classics as you please.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and the fandom's full name
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here. Unfortunately, DW doesn’t have a cut tag, so use your best judgment when it comes to spoilers.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above-mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Any, any, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (William Shakespeare)
+ Any, Any, The Tempest (William Shakespeare)
+ Any, Any, Into the Woods (Stephen Sondheim)
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2024 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? You can use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community. Fret not, DW members; we are working on a way to search through old entries for prompts for you! As of right now, the best way to search for a lonely prompt on DW is to search the community’s archive, which can be found [[HERE]].
While the use of LJ's advanced search and DW’s archive are options, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching in the future.
As a friendly reminder about our schedule, Lonely Prompts and sharing completed fills are encouraged on Sundays, while new themes and prompts are posted on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturdays are a Free for All day. We'll share our posts on DW and LJ for everyone's convenience. Keep an eye out for notifications!
If you have a Dreamwidth account and would feel more comfortable participating there, please feel free to do so…and spread the word!

Fill: modern AU
“Look at our fathers.” Merlin was sprawled on Arthur’s massive bed, staring at the news story on his phone, of Uther Pendragon and Balinor Emrys shaking hands and exchanging mutual grimaces at each other.
“The very best of enemies,” Arthur said, peering over Merlin’s shoulder.
“My dad looks like he wants to spell your dad into oblivion,” Merlin said. “See the way his left hand is half-closed in a fist? That’s the precursor to casting a fireball.”
“A fireball?” Arthur echoed. “You’re having me on.”
“Need I remind you that we are called dragonlords?”
Arthur conceded the point with a nod. “But surely the Prime Minister would never do such a thing to the King of England.”
“As if your dad wouldn’t put a bullet in my dad’s foot if he could get away with it.” Merlin pointed to Uther’s left hand. “That right there. That’s the motion you make right as you’re about to draw a pistol. You learned marksmanship from him.”
Arthur winced. “You’re quite right.”
“I’m always right. I’m brilliant. I’m a doctor.”
Arthur smiled and leaned over and kissed him. “Indeed you are, Dr. Merlin Emrys.” He reached for Merlin’s tie, loosening it with a practiced flick of his wrist. “Now, I’d be interested in a bit of playing doctor —”
Merlin shoved him off the bed. “I cannot believe you said that!”
Arthur landed on the carpet, laughing. “Sorry. I couldn’t resist.” He climbed back up on the bed and curled himself around Merlin again.
Merlin smoothed a hand over him apologetically, checking for injuries.
“You know, if we weren’t dating, they’d probably be screaming at each other on the steps of Parliament ever other week,” Arthur said. “Us being together is the foundation of political unity in this country.”
“The fact that we’ve been together for four years now and the press still hasn’t got a clue is kind of a miracle.” Merlin went to shut off his phone and set it aside, and then he paused and frowned. “What’s this? The press think your secret boyfriend is Cha Eunwoo? That upstart Korean tart —”
Arthur plucked the phone out of Merlin’s hands and put it on the nightstand. “You know the press love to match me up with every handsome bachelor who comes within a stone’s throw of London.”
“Cha Eunwoo is in Milan. That’s not a stone’s throw.” Merlin scowled.
Arthur kissed Merlin on the mouth, softening his expression, and soon they were twined on the bed, kissing and forgetting all else in the world.
On the nightstand, the phone buzzed with incoming alerts.
Breaking news: Crown Prince Arthur’s secret squeeze is son of Prime Minister Balinor Emrys? Exclusive photos.
Prime Minister Balinor accidentally sets antique velvet draperies on fire with magic when asked about possible future royal wedding
King Uther has no comment about possible identities of Prince Arthur’s beau
Lady Morgana impressed at half-brother’s taste in men: “I always thought it was RPattz. A doctor in the family will be lovely”

Eunwoo was in Milan recently, so I couldn't resist, especially the way his more intense fans smell a dating scandal if he even looks at someone for more than second.

Thank you!!!
