Seeing Red

Happy Friday! I'm Sagitta33 (LJ and DW). Today is Venus Day and the Fourth of July in the U.S. It is the day of fireworks and barbecue. If you are celebrating this day, have fun and stay safe.

Synethesia is a condition where one sense can trigger another. I had a TA in college who had this condition. He saw color with sound. I imagine my voice being the color of pink since it's my favorite color. Today's theme is about the color red. I wonder what sound would make red. You can use red literally, figuratively, and/or symbolically.

The rules are as follows:

• No more than five prompts in a row.
• No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
• Use the character's full names and the fandom's full name
• No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here. Unfortunately, DW doesn’t have a cut tag, so use your best judgment when it comes to spoilers.

New Teen Titans - Joey Wilson

Joey’s favorite pen isn’t anything special, really. It’s just a cheap red ballpoint in clear plastic housing, the kind you can purchase by the boxful in any office supply store you set foot into.

There’s something beautiful about it— the idea that even the most common utensil in the world can turn a blank canvas into a masterpiece. Or maybe he’s just being sentimental, but a little bit of sentimentality doesn’t hurt anybody, does it?

It’s a beautiful morning, a perfect day to draw, and as his pen makes scarlet arcs across the page of his sketchbook, he smiles.

Nothing special, it may be. But it’s his favorite. And that counts for something.
