Seeing Red

Happy Friday! I'm Sagitta33 (LJ and DW). Today is Venus Day and the Fourth of July in the U.S. It is the day of fireworks and barbecue. If you are celebrating this day, have fun and stay safe.

Synethesia is a condition where one sense can trigger another. I had a TA in college who had this condition. He saw color with sound. I imagine my voice being the color of pink since it's my favorite color. Today's theme is about the color red. I wonder what sound would make red. You can use red literally, figuratively, and/or symbolically.

The rules are as follows:

• No more than five prompts in a row.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus - Akari

It catches Akari’s eye, preserved behind museum glass— a copper hat pin in the shape of a Haunter, two perfect little rubies inlaid in its eyes. The placard says it belonged to one of the surveyors of ancient Hisui, that the patterns of wear indicate that it must have been a sort of good luck charm to whoever wore it out into the field.

Or maybe, she thinks to herself, whoever it belonged to just couldn’t figure out how to use it properly, and the constant touch was just frantic adjustment.

It had been a gift, after all. She would have been devastated if she lost it.

Best not to dwell upon that, though. She’s quick to move on to the next exhibit.

The little hat pin with its carefully inlaid ruby eyes may be in the shape of a ghost, but it’s the least of what haunts Akari.

So many more important things had been left behind.

Haunter is one of my favorites— something about its little hands is really endearing to me. I mostly chose it here to play into the overall theme of being haunted by the past, but the little hands were definitely a deciding factor too. :P

It's the combo of the little hands, the facial expression, and the cute English voice in the OG anime that made Haunter one of my favorites, too. ^.^ Right up there with Vulpix and Bulbasaur for me~ ♫
