It's Thursday! I'm mahmfic if you have forgotten. Today's lovely theme is 100 Words. The prompt can be whatever you'd like but the fill must be 100 words only.

Rules:

It wasn't the way Steve had ever believed he would be with Bucky again (that involved being dead and an afterlife - he was strangely okay with that idea), but here he was. Sitting next to his best friend's hospital bed, gripping his too-cold hand, refusing to take his eyes off him.

"You need to get some sleep," Tony says, his own hand on Steve's shoulder, knowing that his comment will be ignored. "I'll watch him."

Steve shakes his head. He lost Bucky once before and he'll be damned to hell if he's going to risk it happening again.
