Hi, guys. I'm jade_starlight and I'm still your Guest Host for one more day. *g*

For my last day, we're doing genderbenders, either changing the canon gender of at least one of your characters or including aspects of crossdressing. Want to see a female DiNozzo, or maybe you want John Sheppard in eyeliner? Now's the time. *g*

Sometimes, Mary thinks she might be the luckiest woman alive. She has a home, a husband who loves her, a beautiful little daughter – named Deanna after her own mother, and a baby son, Sammy.

Mary can forget the things she’s seen sometimes. She thinks that it might be because of Deanna and Sammy.. having the innocent little children around makes it hard to believe in demons and monsters, even when she knows that they exist. One day, she’s cooking dinner in the kitchen when Deanna comes running up to her.

“Mommy, why don’t I have a nana and a granpa? Everyone at school does, and they said that their nanas and granpas give them presents and stuff.”
Mary hesitates for a moment, thinking of a reply. “Well, you do have a nana and a granpa. Your nana’s name was Deanna, like yours, and granpa was called Sam, just like Sammy.”
“But why haven’t I ever met them?”
“They had to go away, a long time ago.”
“Will I ever get to meet them?”
“Maybe. One day, when you’re much, much older, you’ll get to see them.”
Deanna considers this. “Oh. Okay”, she says, before running off to play.

Mary watches her daughter go, and has to fight back the tears in her eyes.
