Doctor Who, Nine/Rose, Woman Wept

"Wait until you see this!" The Doctor rushed to the door, grinning madly. "It's fantastic!"

He opened the door and ushered Rose out onto a desolate beach.

"Oh, turn this way! Wouldn't want to ruin the big reveal." He shifted her shoulders a little and all she could see was flat land for ages.

"What is this place?"

"They call it Woman Wept."

"Rather a sad name, don't you think?"

"Perhaps, but if you look at the continent from above that's exactly what it looks like. I'll show you later when we leave. Looks just like a hunched over woman lamenting something." He took her by the shoulders. "Ready? Now look!"

He turned her around and she let out a gasp, he hand going automatically to her mouth.

"Oh my god!"

"Brilliant, isn't it? Like a moment in time preserved."

They stepped towards the shoreline, such as it was, gazing up at the hundred foot high waves - frozen froth white and unmoving.

"It's beautiful," Rose marveled. She ran to the water's edge and poked her toe at it to test how solid it was. "Can we go out there? Get close?"

"Of course," he told her as he joined her. "Whatever you want."

She spontaneously threw her arms around his neck, kissing his cheek with great affection.

"You always take me to the best places," she cried, bubbling over with excitement.

He wrapped her arms around her waist, holding her tight.

"Only the best for my Rose."
