Thursday: On Vacation
My last day... *pout* I shall have to come up with some crazy themes and do this again!
Today's theme is On Vacation.
After yesterday's insanity, our characters really need a break. What do they do to get away from their normal lives?
Please think about our wonderful codemonkeys and use the correct format (the second is for crossovers).
Fandom, Pairing, Prompt
Fandom1/Fandom2, Pairing, Prompt
Firefly, River, Building sand-castles on the beach
Torchwood/Heroes, Jack/Ianto/Gabriel, A broken stopwatch spoils half their vacation plans
Please remember not to post more than 5 prompts in a row and more than 3 prompts per fandom. If one or more of your prompts are answered, you can prompt again later in the day.
If you don't see anything you like, you can always Adopt a Lonely Prompt.

Adelle is laying on her side and watching her, a calm interest in her eyes that the doctor only ever sees when they're alone like this. "What are you thinking about?" the older woman asks, keeping her steady gaze on her partner's eyes. Claire can't help but smile. "Just about how this room feels safe now. Familiar."
Adelle smiles back and moves in closer, draping an arm over Claire's waist. "Well, you do end up here fairly frequently now."
"Yes. It used to frighten me, though. Being here in the dark, not knowing what the shadows were. But it got better."
Adelle pauses before speaking again, choosing her words carefully and studying her lover's face. "That's true of everything, you know. Many things aren't as frightening as they seem when they're still strange to you." Claire doesn't respond, and after another moment the older woman pushes on. "I just mean that you should get out more. See the world while you can. You have vacation time, you ought to use it."
The young physician tenses, eyes shifting to avoid her partner's gaze. "I don't think I want to go anywhere else."
"You didn't think you'd want to come here, either." Adelle sighs, rubbing circles against Claire's hip with her thumb. "I'm sorry. I just worry about you."
Claire falls quiet, so quiet that Adelle might have thought she'd fallen asleep if it weren't for the tense feeling in the air. But finally she speaks again, tentatively, as if she's afraid of the answer. "Come with me?"
A smile breaks through the worry on the older woman's face, and she tightens her arm around the doctor's waist and presses a kiss to her shoulder before closing her eyes and resting her cheek against her lover's skin. "Always."
