When he was twelve he’d stood by and watched as a mutant girl was killed in an ally. The perpetrators had gotten off with a slap on the wrist because no one had testified against them. John is pretty sure that event was the first of his many wrongs.
In America he joined up with Xavier’s school for the gifted and tried to act the part of a slightly disadvantaged but average teen boy. He’d even managed it for a while. Managed to lock away his rage at a world that viewed people like him as vermin, he even managed to ignore the atrocities done by humans. He felt sick when he thought of all he’d ignored and done wrong to be with Bobby and have a sense of normalcy.
After he left Xavier’s he started committing wrongs of another sort. He’s become everything he hated in human bigots and he’d felt good about it. He’d felt free and whatever guilt he felt was swept away in the feeling of power he got by seeing himself as being above humanity.
He only wishes he could have realized the truth about all the wrongs he’s done before he lay dying on a battlefield of his own making. He doubt’s anyone but Bobby will regret his death and he can only dream that Bobby will forgive all the wrongs he committed in his life and remember him as the boy that he’d once loved.
