Tuesday - On The Road
Hey everyone! I'm
be_themoon , guest-hosting this week. Firstly, thanks to
monica_catch22 for stepping in for me yesterday. Secondly! Today's theme is On The Road - road trips, commuting to work, driving home for the holidays, going across country for a job - any way you want to spin it!
You guys know the rules: No more than 5 prompts, and only 3 prompts per fandom unless someone answers one of your prompts.
No spoilers in your prompt until a week after air-date - if there are spoilers in your story, you need to warn and leave three spaces.
And of course, remember the format! Fandom, Character/Character, prompt.
Supernatural, Dean/Castiel, three hundred miles to the next job
Chronicles of Narnia, Susan, she doesn't take the train anymore
Merlin, author's choice, road trip AU
If none of the prompts catch your interest, take a gander at the Lonely Prompts Listing on delicious and adopt a few!

Passing Through
this is for xxxHolic, Clow/Yuuko. I hope you’ve read the series. If not well...sorry!
*
He’d always told her don’t get too attached to the mortals. It had been an unnecessary warning, one that often got a cold retort in response. But unlike his games, this was not merely baiting.
They are just passing through life. They are blind, deaf and dumb to the surroundings around them, and die all too soon before they’ve even lived.
She knew his first lover had been a more mortal one, a woman with no magical inclination at all. He’d even married the girl and stayed with her until she died. No small feat, that.
He’d been so young then. So idealistic. She can only imagine the genius that he must have been (yes, she even admitted this in her mind) tethered to a finite girl.
He’d had a child, the first of the Li clan. She’d hardly been the first, though she must have held some special hold on his heart. After her, he no longer married and kept himself aloof. Already the hints of cynicism had begun to set in.
As for her, it was not the lovers that worried her. She and he, both were aloof in their own ways.
You’ve nothing to worry. The boy will be far less fleeting than that. . He stops her cutting remark before she can make it. It was one of those things she’d always hated about him. Nothing was worse than getting into argument.
This isn’t a lover. I’d have to be jealous if it was, now wouldn’t I? It’s a protege.
Her grip tightened on her glass. And what else in my life do you see? Pray tell.
I see you living he said, with an almost nostalgic fondness.
And that is all I can say. I don’t want to curse you with visions of the future. Heaven knows I’m cursed by it..
Their glasses clinked. To life, and death. The fleeting inevitably.
To those just passing through.
