Monday - Manners

Hi everyone! I'm [livejournal.com profile] trinityday and I'll be your guest host this week.

Today's theme is manners.

Ps & Qs. Social graces. Poise and deportment. Some people's default mode is to be polite. Others... not so much. So tell us about your characters following proper etiquette, their mishaps, everything that has to do with manners in general.

For the sake of our code monkeys, please remember not to go crazy and to limit yourself to 3 prompts per genre and 5 prompts in a row total. If your prompts get answered, then feel free to leave some more later in the day.

Spoilers are not allowed in your prompts until a week (7 days) has passed from the original air date. If there are spoilers in your fic, please remember to warn people by bolding and leaving at least 3 spaces.

Also, remember to thank your fic provider. Not only is it the nice thing to do, but it often helps encourage them to write even more.

The proper formatting for leaving your prompts is as follows, the third example being for crossovers:

Harry Potter, Lily/James, it's polite to reciprocate oral sex
Doctor Who, Doctor/Donna, the correct form of greeting on Earth in the 73rd century
Torchwood/Highlander, Methos/Jack, the proper etiquette for attending your own funeral

If none of today's prompts catch your eye, there's always the Lonely Prompts list to look through.

He had her up against the wall beside the door, practically attacking her with lips and teeth and tongue. It was pretty much the hottest thing ever, not that she'd ever admit that. Didn't want to look inexperienced, not with this guy. He was definitely unlike any of the high school boys she'd had.

Still, it wasn't the most comfortable position to be in. Thank God, Mom had the night shift again. As usual.

"Come on," she managed. "The bed's more comfortable, I promise."

He nipped her neck one last time, then looked up with a smirk. "Lead the way."

She ducked under his arm, fumbling for her keys. She felt giddy, and made herself take a few deep breaths when she got to the door. Slow it down a little. Then she unlocked the door, and backed into the house, eyes locked with his.

He walked right up to the threshold, and stopped, eyeing her.

She backed up out of the doorway, waited. He didn’t move. So, what, now he decides to play coy? "What are you waiting for?"

He leaned against the doorjamb, and oh, the things she was going to do to him. "You know, the polite thing to do would be to invite me in."

She laughed, a little confused. "So we're being polite now?"

He shrugged. "Or I could just leave."

She narrowed her eyes. She wasn't sure exactly what game he was playing, but he wasn't leaving. And neither was he getting one over on her.

"And what will you give me if I do?"

He gave her a nice, long, shiver-inducing once-over. "Oh, Caroline. You have no idea."

He hadn't been kidding about the cocky, apparently. She bit her lip, let him sweat for a few seconds, then rolled her eyes and sighed. "Whatever. Won't you please come in, Damon?" she asked, sugary sweet.

The door was shut and he had her against the wall almost before she finished speaking.

"Easy," she breathed. She shoved him away lightly, grabbed his hand, and headed for her room.

Tonight was going to be so awesome.

Yay! I love it. It totally feels like that was a missing scene from the show. Thanks for writing!
