Monday: 100 Words On School
Aug. 12th, 2019 12:00 amHi! I’m
brumeier, and this week we’re going to be filling themes inspired by the movie Grease (And Grease 2 because I like it and I’m not sorry!), using 100 words or any multiple of 100. Today’s theme is SCHOOL. Any school related prompts are fair game today, whether your characters are in high school or college, or they’re teaching, or maybe just breaking in for a spot of mayhem. ::grins::
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Sherlock (TV), Sherlock Holmes +/ John Watson, Sherlock goes undercover as a school teacher
+ Stargate Atlantis/Any, Evan Lorne +/ Any, roommates at college
+ Hawaii Five-0, Steve McGarrett, he runs a survival training school
+ Trixie Belden Mysteries/The Three Investigators, Trixie Belden +/ Jupiter Jones, meeting when their respective schools take a field trip to the same place
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2016 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2019-08-12 06:00 am (UTC)“Mr. Holmes, we’ve had complaints about your performance.”
“Could you be more specific?” And faster--damn it, he has papers to correct.
“The parents think you’re asking too much. That vocabulary list you sent home is quite advanced for thirteen-year olds.”
“They need to be challenged.” Sherlock shakes his head. “Given the low expectations you have for them, it’s no wonder they need to resort to cheating to pass standardized tests.”

Date: 2019-08-12 01:12 pm (UTC)“I don’t need a medieval history tutor,” Arthur says.
“Professor Gaius sent me, and here I am.” Merlin plops down opposite Arthur and drops a massive textbook on the desk.
“I’m doing fine.”
“Those who don’t learn history are doomed to repeat it,” Merlin says airily.
Arthur jabs a pen at him. “That’s a misquote.”
“What are you, the King of Literary Accuracy?”
“I’m not a literature major,” Arthur splutters, indignant. He’s a political science major. He’s going to do something useful for the world.
“You’re certainly not the King of Medieval History if your quiz scores are anything to go by.” Merlin flips the textbook open.
Arthur squints at him, still suspicious. “Are you really Gaius’s TA? You look younger than me, and I’m a bejant.”
“I’m older than I look.”
“Really? Prove it.”
“Why should I? I’m just here to tutor you. Now if you’d turn to page 394, my lord, we can begin.”
Something about the way Merlin calls him my lord for the rest of their tutoring session digs under Arthur’s skin for the rest of the day.
That night, he sprawls on his narrow dorm mattress and scowls at the ceiling till he falls asleep.
Then he dreams.
And he remembers.
How long have you been training to be a prat, my lord?
