Eddie was resting on the carpet near Martin's chair chewing on a tennis ball he had found in a bag he had seen Niles deposit near the front door.
He liked balls because then his humans would play fetch with him until they either got tired or he did.
Today, he wasn't in the mood to play fetch, but he couldn't contain his desire to chew on a fuzzy ball.

"Dad!" Niles whined.
"What?" Martin asked looking up from the magazine he had been reading.
"Eddie has one of my tennis balls!"
"So?" Martin said with a shrug. "If you want it back, just take it."
"God, no," Niles said with a shudder. "He's slobbered all over it."
"Why do you care?" Frasier asked as he walked into the livingroom. "It's not like you are going to be playing tennis today anyway. Let Eddie enjoy the ball and remember next time close your bag."
Niles humphed, grabbed his bag and left.
"I didn't think he would ever leave," Martin grumbled about his youngest son.
Fraiser shrugged and headed into the kitchen for something to eat.
Martin looked down at Eddie. "You want to play fetch?" he asked.
Eddie dropped the ball at Martin's feet figuring he would humor the man for a little bit.
