Re: The importance of being engaged part 2

1 year later.
Veronica studied the ballroom and sighed. She hated these events more than anything except when Wallace was trying to hook her up with someone else, at one of these events. She was happy that Wallace was still talking to after the whole Piz fiasco. At the time Wallace hadn’t been impressed that Veronica had broken off the engagement but when she explained that she couldn’t marry him when her whole heart wasn’t in it he had agreed but only because he thought that they should both be happy and if that wasn’t with each other than he would be ok with that.
Finally spotting the blue flower on the pocket of the man she was suppose to meet Veronica headed cautiously towards them. Tapping him on the back she said, “Excuse me I think I’m your date.”
Surprised to see who turned around she muffled her gasp as he said, “I think I am.”
“Logan,” she whispered, “Wait why are we being set up? Shouldn’t you be with Parker still?”
Logan sighed, “That would mean that we would have gotten married but we didn’t. I take it you didn’t marry Piz.”
“I couldn’t, I finally realised what you were trying to tell me.” Veronica whispered.
“Good. So we’re both single than.” Logan said stepping towards her and taking her hand.
“Yeah we are.”
“Do you want to get some coffee? Do you want to take a chance on me?” he whispered.
“I’d love to.” Veronica whispered, allowing him to pull her from the party with a fake blush spreading across her cheeks.
The end.

(Cause I couldn't leave it without some hope).
