It was a beautiful spring day. Bright sunshine warms them as they hold hands strolling down the street, window shopping for Franny's upcoming birthday.
They paused in the doorway of a cute mom and pop shop when a little old lady who owned the store smiled kindly at them, “Oh my goodness, what a cute couple you are.”
There is no discrimination in this town, Mickey was accustomed to people being hateful to gay love, but today love won. Blushing, Mickey ducks his head as the lady fawns over how adorable they are. She gives Ian a daisy, “For your handsome fella,” she grins.
Thanking her and kindly accepting the flower, they carry on with their shopping, and Ian cannot help but smile at Mickey's bashfulness. “She thought we were adorable.” He boops Mickey on the nose, making his husband blush even brighter until his cheeks are rosy pink.
Once Mickey thought that love was something, he could never have…Never knew that he could feel this much joy and happiness. Now, he knows true love, and with his husband by his side, today, love wins as he got his happily ever after.
