Thursdays are for thinking about First Times

Hello, everyone. I’m squidgiepdx and today's theme is First Times. Now here's the thing - the prompt "first time" can literally be anything. Like the first time John Sheppard went on an away mission without Rodney McKay, and missed his snoring. Or the first time someone - not Steve McGarrett - said, "Boom 'em, Danno," and Danny Williams realized that no - that's something Steve can say but nobody else. Or you can go with what I associate first times with, and that's intimacy. Like the first time William Poindexter kisses a man, or the first time Ransom and Holster hook up. If you can describe it as a first time, then be the first to prompt it here today!

Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.

Daniel poked his head into the infirmary to see if he could have a word with Janet about what to get Cassie for her birthday, and he saw Robert Rothman sitting on one of the cots, staring a little dazedly ahead, while nurses cut open his pant leg and revealed a massive bite wound in his calf.

“Rothman,” Daniel said, and the man blinked, focused on him. “You all right?”

“Mission to PX7-223,” Rothman said.

Daniel nodded knowingly. “Ah. First time being bitten by the local megafauna?”

Rothman blinked again, then said, “First time?”

“Did you have a chocolate bar in your pocket?”

“Because they’re effective for first contact with indigenous populations,” Rothman said.

Daniel nodded. “Yeah. But they’re like heroin to the poisonous giant lizard-dog-rabbit things on PX7-223. Was that not in the briefing? No chocolate.”

“It was not,” Rothman said. “Wait, they’re poisonous?”

Daniel nodded.

“No one said anything about that!” Rothman cried.

One of the nurses murmured something soothing about painkillers and antivenin.

Daniel winced. “Well, I’m sure you’ll remember next time. You seen Janet?”

Rothman pointed vaguely in the direction of the other end of the infirmary, where Janet looked like she was about to administer a particularly vicious rabies shot.

“Thanks,” Daniel said. He’d wait till she was done, lest she turn the needle on him. She hated dealing with alien poison cases.

Lucifer gave her a perplexed look. "Detective, I did give my word."

"And you don't think that car's a little...much for Trixie to learn on?"

"It did very well for me. I believe learning to drive a manual offers other practical applications in life."

Chloe rolled her eyes. "Yes, we all know about the correlation of a stick shift and." She sighed. "Men's...body parts."

Lucifer blinked, processing this information. "Detective, I swear I was unaware of such a parallel but now that I am, I can understand your reluctance at your offspring learning to drive my car. Still, a promise is a promise."

"And," Chloe said, ready to play her trump card, "Trixie's only thirteen. She's not old enough to drive yet. Still."

He opened his mouth to protest. Closed it again. "Hmm."

"So you're not breaking any promises."

"No, I suppose not."

Chloe laid her hand on Lucifer's shoulder. "Tell you what - when Trixie's fifteen? You can teach her to drive. In Maze's car."

He nodded slowly. "Of course, Detective." Her smile coaxed one from Lucifer, a smile which remained in place until Chloe was out of earshot. "Hmm. I wonder if the Detective realizes Mazikeen's automobile has more horsepower than mine?"
