Gabriel slips his fingers between Castiel’s as he moves, and Castiel squeezes his hand. He lets his head fall back, resting on his brother’s shoulder, losing himself in the flood of Grace from the archangel.

Gabriel breathes hard against his neck. “Do you regret it?”

Castiel doesn’t want to speak of it. It isn’t why he came here. But he knows Gabriel is impossible to divert or distract once his mind is made up. “How can I-“

Gabriel reaches up, tilts Castiel’s head just so, and kisses him.

“Don’t lie to me, little brother. Don’t even try.”

Castiel turns his head away, shuts his eyes. “Do you?”

He can feel Gabriel’s smile – hard, cold, bitter. “Look around you.”

Castiel does. He sees the shimmering colours, the soft fabrics, can feel his brother’s creations frozen in time, waiting until Gabriel wants something. At the snap of his fingers, his brother can produce anything he desires.

“We should never have left home,” he admits, and Gabriel chuckles against him.

“Trust me...if we hadn’t jumped, we’d only have been pushed.”
