Hey, I'm still drabblewriter , and you're still stuck with me as your host. ^_^ Today's theme is rare pairings. Every fandom has that one OTP (or two or three) that everyone seems to ship, but what about all those other possibilities? Today is the time for these little-known couples to shine. ♥

Don't forget to follow the rules:

• Post no more than three prompts per fandom and no more than five prompts in a row. If someone fills a prompt, you're more than welcome to post some more prompts later in the day.
• No spoilers in prompts for at least seven days after the original airdate or publication date. If you have spoilers in your fic, please warn in bold and leave at least three spaces.
• Show some love to the code monkeys and format your prompts correctly. Examples below:

Filling the Prompt: The Lost Art of Courtship

On February First, there was a cup of coffee waiting for Zack on his desk. Under it there was a note that read 'You looked like you needed a pick me up.' The squint sipped the coffee and went to ask Hodgins and Angela whether either of them was responsible for the coffee. Neither of them was of any help.

On February Second, a vinyl of John Coltrane was waiting for him on the forensic platform. This time the note said 'You look like the Jazz type.' Both Angela and Cam were interested in finding out who was sending Zack these gifts. The squint took the record home and listened to it. His admirer had gotten his taste in music right.

On February 3rd, his gift was wrapped and the squint squad was surrounding it, trying to figure out what was it. Zack opened the box to find the math book he was after for the last month. On the first page there was the same handwriting from the other notes, 'I heard you were looking for this.' Zack smiled and read the book every chance he got. If he wished his crush, the FBI agent known as Seeley Booth, was the admirer, he never told anyone.

On the fourth day of the month, he was already working when the gift was delivered. He read the card ('This was very hard to find. Hopefully it'll make you smile.') He lifted the lid of the rectangular box to find a periodic table made entirely of chocolate. After taking one square (Aluminum) he offered to his friends. Each took one square and Zack put the rest in his office, wondering if Booth would like some chocolate should he stop by today.

On the 5th, the gift was so heartfelt Zack blushed when he saw it. Accompanying the note ('A Zachary Uriah Addy original for the original Zachary Uriah Addy'), there was a framed magazine page. More specifically, a page that contained the first paper the squint published. Zack went to his office and hang it up, all the while smiling.

The 6th was a Sunday. So Zack was surprised when his doorbell rang and Hodgins appeared holding a package. 'Somebody left this at the main house. Your admirer is a very dedicated person.' Inside the box there were two paperback printings of two of Zack's favorite comics, The Vinyl Underground and Hellblazer. The note said 'I won't forget just because it's Sunday. I just hope you didn't already have these issues.' Zack sat on his couch and started enjoying his new present. And if his mind wandered to his crush now and then, that's neither here nor there.

On the 7th, he received a paperweight shaped like a blue police box. The squint squad smiled as they recognized the geeky trinket (well, almost all of them, Brennan was still oblivious to the television as a whole). The note was different. It said 'Seven Days' but it was written in Gallifreyan.

On the 8th, the squint got a model airplane, good enough to rival the ones he made. 'To lift your spirits' was the note.

On the 9th, the gift made Zack blush in embarrassment. His friends were all around him when he opened the box and took out all kinds of flavored condoms, coffee and strawberry lube. There even were a couple of glow-in-the-dark condoms. Angela grabbed the note and read it out loud, making Zack blush even more: 'For us to use from the 14th onwards.' If the squint's mind produced images of him and Booth putting these gifts to use, well, who can blame him?

On the tenth, the squint got a chemistry set and a note that read 'I hope you'll like this one.'

On the eleventh, the gift was a photo with everyone of the squint squad and Booth too. They were all at a bar, celebrating that they'd caught the killer of the day. The note was 'You should smile more.'

On the twelfth, Zack received a mix tape. 'I couldn't think of anything else, sorry.' It had all kinds of love songs from 'Way Back Into Love' from Music & Lyrics to Frank Sinatra's 'Strangers in the Night'.

On the eve of Valentine's Day, Hodgins delivered the gift once again. This time it was a book on codes and their history. The message, once decoded, simply said 'Tomorrow.'

On Valentine's Day, when Zack arrived at the forensic platform Booth was waiting for him, holding a single red rose.

Upon hearing the FBI agent say 'Will you be my valentine?', the squint promptly turned the same shade as the rose; nevertheless, he smiled and kissed his no-longer-secret admirer.

She knows what everyone else would say about the fact that the only time she feels safe to cry is tucked in the arms of her husbands best friend after he's shagged her rotten and Lily does not care.

If they had a clue, just *one* simple stinking clue about how terrifying it is to be hunted like a snidget by the kinds of people Death Eaters are.

If they knew how it felt to have to quit your job because you can't trust anyone with your child, how it felt to have to sing and play and giggle when everyday your husband comes home paler, more tired, more despondant because they still haven't found not so much as a trace of his parents.

If they knew how very frightening it is to know your family is in so much danger that sometimes if you hold to still you can feel screams stuck inside your chest and you have to swallow them because if you start you won't stop, not once, then they'd shut their big fat safe mouths and never say a word about the fact that Lily Potter can only cry when Sirius Black has her tucked under his body still trembling from his touch.

And if they knew how very scared she is of the charm being cast tomorrow and that she won't see Sirius again until the danger has passed, she likes to think they (and *they* always look like Petunia. Rows and rows of her sister) would shut up and let her have her fears and her release.

At least until they find out that James *knows*. That might set them off again.

There are passions that Bella can’t understand, things that as a human she can’t experience. Edward is shocked when he finds someone who can.

Who would have thought that the wolf could understand him even better than his family?

It’s to Jacob he goes when the rage and the thirst come and Jacob does the same. Bella thinks that they are still fighting over her and Edward doesn’t have the heart to tell her that he’s found something in Jacob.

It’s not love like he feels for Bella but its something just as primal, Its blood, bruises, and heated kisses.

The two of them go on a vacation in hell for their first century anniversary. It’s more impulse than anything. Crowley’s had been telling Gabriel about his favorite places in hell again and Gabriel came up with the ‘brilliant’ plan of going down for a visit.

They’d both forgotten that their respective exes were playing house in hell. Running into Lucifer and Michael stunk. Particularly when they weren’t allowed to smite them. Working for Chuck was a bitch, sometimes.

Fi is like an dynamite, she’s fire and power and strength. She’s the type of woman that has always turned his head. If he was younger he’d think about settling down and marrying her, but he’s beyond that point in his life.

The stars are all Larry can talk about when he comes back from space. He’s a man possessed and Charlie can’t help but feel happy for him, even as he’s filled with jealousy. It breaks his heart when Larry leaves him for the monastery, but he doesn’t try to stop him from going.

He is committed to be whatever Larry needs.

His patience pays of the day that Larry arrives at his door with a ring in hand. It’s engraved with the words ‘to my shining star’ and it is absolutely perfect.

Hell yeah he’s protective. Little shiny thing like that, she needs protecting. Plenty of big bad men out there in the black looking to take a thing like her, make her do any gorram thing they want and not pay any attention to what they got. He’s not saying he’s not a bad man, and he’s certainly not saying he’s not proud of what he does. He likes his job and his life. But he knows that someone like her is special, and if you have ‘em, you shouldn’t let other people take ‘em. Little doctor man just walks onto Serenity and starts putting the charms on her, of course he’s gonna bristle. She’s too special for the fancy inner-planet likes of him.

And it’s not like she’s innocent or nothing. He’s heard the stories of how she got on this ship, and he knows she’s a real woman, with needs and passions and all that whatnot. She doesn’t pull any of that prissy, too good for a working man gos se, like some females he could mention. She’s certainly not afraid to get dirty. He’s spent plenty of time in his bunk, imagining undoing one of those jumpsuits of hers and taking her right there in the engine room, putting his big hands all over her tiny body. He’d hold her tight, keep her safe in his big arms, beat the stuffing out of anyone tried to mess with her.

Doesn’t matter who, either. Thieves, pirates, Alliance, even Reavers if he had to. He’d fight any of ‘em to keep her safe. He’s not going soft for her. She’s special, that’s all. Living as a thief, he knows the importance of protecting special things.

An albatross was supposed to be a ship's good luck, and mostly River had been, so Mal finds himself disinclined to hand her over to the waiting authorities.

He doesn't yet consider her 'crew', but she's wormed her way into that place where Inara likes to say his heart used to be. Before Serenity Valley he probably would have adopted her already, but these days he likes to protect himself a little better around the soft bits.

As if she can hear him thinking about her, and maybe she can, he don't understand a gorram thing that brother of hers ever says about it, River pads into the cockpit on nearly silent feet.

"It's late little one," He says softly, "Little girls best be in their beds."

"But I'm not a little girl." River says, her voice so much older than the rest of her.

"What are you then?"

She climbes into his lap, startling him enough he nearly topples them both to the floor.

"Little albatross." She murmurs into his chest.
