Date: 2010-09-13 09:04 pm (UTC)"Worse than a dismembered corpse that was doused in acid and sent through a garbage truck?" Reid asked.
"Oh yeah. There was that one that was inside a crushed car-," Hodgins said.
"Or that one that had been encased in concrete."
"Or that one in the barrel!"
"Or the mummy."
"Mummy?" Prentiss asked incredulously.
"Or that one in the sewage treatment plant purification pit-."
"We believe you," Morgan said loudly, before the rest of Dr. Brennan's team could get wound up any more.
"But there are still a lot of worse ones..."
"Like that one on the cross!"
"Agent Booth, do they ever stop?" Hotchner asked, very quietly.
"Not to my knowledge, no," Booth said cheerfully, and despite the situation, grinned widely.

Date: 2010-09-13 09:32 pm (UTC)"Sorry." He leans against the corner next to her. "I'm normally pretty good with faces, but I don't think I know you." Jacks eyes skim from the wild tangle of hair hiding half her ghostly pale heart shaped face down to her black heeled boots. "And I would remember a lady as lovely as you." Her eyes roll, but Jack can see the hint of a smile she's fighting back.
"No, you really wouldn't. Not that it matters now. Are you still going by Jack Harkness?" The smile on his face is slipping away.
"Yes, for the moment...now who the hell are you?" She shakes her head pityingly but turns towards him staring into his eyes. They are deep and beautiful at first before the black of them begins to pull him in and there's nothing there. Empty and echoing and faintly Jack is aware that this tiny woman shaped thing is all that's keeping him on his feet. "Oh." His throat is dry and his cheeks wet. "You're not here for me, are you? You're never here for me." She draws back, straightening indignantly.
"Never here for you!? I will have you know Captian Jack Harkness that you are my own personal hell. I am, in fact, the only aspect of Death who does, actually, come for you. No underlings, no religious off shoots, no splinter aspects. Just me and you. Every. Single. Time." Her voice has gone from peeved to slightly amused and was she wearing a coat like his a minute ago? "Who do you think holds you safe?"
"Am I dead right now then?" She nods.
"But the children are fine and the shuttle ejected safely." He nods.
"So we do this every time then and I forget?" The snort she makes is adorable.
"Not a chance. This is our first face to face for you, but seeing as how you've been rendered to your base atoms and will be floating unable to revive in space for a while, I decided not to duck around the corner this time." The wind blows a gust of sound through the windows and boy does it sound like a hell of a party.
"Wanna go in? I'll buy you a drink." Death flicks her cigarette off into the storm with a grin.
"Two impossiable things walk into a bar?" He laughs.
"Something like that."
"Allright, but I'm not having sex with you."
