That's right, today's theme is crossovers! Take two series and make them meet, in whatever way you like.

Just keep the rules in mind:

• No more than three prompts for the same fandom.
  
• No more than five prompts in a row.
  
• If one of your prompts is filled, you can prompt again.
  
• No spoilers in your prompts for at least a week after the airdate/release.
  
• Warn for any spoilers for your fic in bold and leave at least three spaces before the text.

While following Light around, Ryuk got a chance to go to many places and see things that he wouldn't have gotten to see while staying cooped up in the shinigami realm. That included following the young human to regular student hangouts, such as a cybercafe where Light was accustomed to studying from time to time.

Which is when Ryuk spotted a familiar entity, if not in a familiar form: he'd seen her centuries ago and she'd looked like a skeletal wraith. Now she looked like a cute girl with chin-length black hair and grey eyes. He hovered over to approach her table, where she sat watching the patrons in the cafe.

"Hey, like the new form," Ryuk said. "Long time no see, Tessa."

"I might change it again in another hundred years. You like it?"

"Yeah: it's cute! Don't change a muscle of it."

"I'll think about it: humans find it reassuring, but some people see through it."

"Yeah, there's a few people who got the sight for that kinda thing."

"You've been busy, Ryuk," she said, with a teeny smile. "It's all over several regions of the world of the dead that you've been palling with a human."

"Aww, what's the matter? Jealous? You always liked humans. You wanna meet Light?" he asked, glancing at Light as he sat typing a paper.

"No, that wouldn't be necessary. I'm only passing through.

"So what's this about letting that human use your death note?" she asked, changing the subject.

"I just dropped it to see what would happen. It's been...interesting to see what Light's been doing with it," Ryuk says, grinning.

Tessa glanced at Light. "Yeah, I've heard. Just keep in mind, the fuzz from the Ministry of Hades are asking questions."

"Awww, spoiling my fun?" Ryuk replied.

"I don't want the both of you getting caught. You know what bastards they can be," Tessa said. "That's why I left them."

"Well, I guess I'll just take my chances," Ryuk said, shifting as if he would move on. "Don't be a stranger."

"I'll come by as soon as I can, she said, getting up and phasing through the kitchen wall.

Sherlock Holmes and the Temporary Suspension of Disbelief

Excerpt from the unpublished writings of Dr. John Watson:

It was a little past noon on a warm and drowsy Sunday when I first encountered Mr. Crowley. It was common enough to pass one of Sherlock's strange visitors on the stairs. A man wearing a nice coat, fashionable hat and tinted glasses was not so far out of the ordinary. I thought nothing of it, at first.

Sherlock was visibly disturbed. He paced and fidgeted and muttered to himself in a manner most uncharacteristic and he would not confide in me the nature of his troubles.

Mr. Crowley, Sherlock informed me, was one of those rare phenomena that simply could not be explained by science or logic. And that was all he said until quite some time later.

Sherlock was more himself after supper and a glass of brandy. "It seems on the surface," he said, "as though I've just been hired to reunite Mr. Crowley with his old friend Mr. Aziraphale and the farther I look into it the more I think that is indeed the case."

"You rarely accept such simple work."

"It is deceptively simple. The way an onion appears simple until one starts cutting. I doubt I shall confide the particulars of this case to you, dear Watson. You would probably assume that I had gone mad."

I knew what he was up to. Teasing me with just enough information to peak my interests and then denying me more facts was the surest way to stifle any incredulity on my part until Sherlock had presented all of his reasoning. "Nonsense, Sherlock. You're the most sane man I know. I doubt you could say anything that would doubt your sanity." I played into his hands, of course.

"Mr. Crowley is a demon and his friend Mr. Aziraphale is an angel."

The look on Watson's face could have been accurately described as "Bwuh?"

"It shouldn't be too hard do discover Mr. Aziraphale. In fact I already know where to look." Sherlock continued as casually as if he had said 'the sky is blue'. "The problem seems to be that Mr. Aziraphale does not want to be found my Mr. Crowley."

"Stop. Stop." Watson was massaging his temples in an effort to keep his brain from oozing out his ears. "One of us is absolutely barking mad and I don't know which would be worse; that you had finally cracked or that your particular brand of affable insanity had finally started to affect me negatively."

"I won't say I told you so."

"You just did."

"Oh, I did, didn't I?"

"Holmes!"

"Alright. Take a deep breath and another sip of brandy. There's a good man. In a few minutes we'll have a visit from Mr. Aziraphale. He'll tell us his side of the quarrel with Mr. Crowley and implore me not to reveal his location to the demon."

Just then there was a knock at the door.

It was a job gone horribly, terribly wrong, and of course, Parker was there, that little girl from the last home he ever let the system put him in, the one he almost couldn't save.

He saw the earpiece get smashed, the last act she had strength for, and he kept up a steady stream of bullshit, throwing in the code for now, Peter, come in now, I’m completely fucked, there’s an innocent bystander bleeding out, Peter now Peter now now now in a dozen different ways.

He slid across the floor to try and help her, put pressure on the wound, keep her from bleeding out. “Hey, Parker,” he murmured, ignoring the gunmen, their target’s hired goons. If he had a gun of his own… but he didn’t, he hated guns, he’s just really good with them.

“Noah?” she gasped, eyes blinking at him before sliding away.

“Yeah,” he whispered. There was so much blood…

He almost sobbed in relief when Peter yelled, “FBI! Freeze!”

And then Peter was beside him, voice gentle and hands firm, as he put pressure on Parker’s wound, and he said, “Hello, Parker. I’ve heard a lot about you.”

“Nate?” she asked, voice weaker than the last time she spoke.

“No,” Peter answered as Neal demanded an ambulance from the phone he just picked out of Peter’s pocket. “I’m Peter Burke. Don’t worry, Parker, you’ll be just fine. And we won’t even book you this time, since you helped us.”

“I-I did?” Her eyelashes kept fluttering shut and Neal grabbed her hand, staring at Peter, begging him to do something, anything, because—Parker.

“Yes, Parker,” Peter said, eyes flicking to Neal before focused back on her. “You saved Neal’s life. And we’re going to save yours.”

(Later, after she’d been stabilized and Neal could breathe again, he didn’t mention the four people he knew didn’t work for the hospital who kept visiting her. He suspected Peter knew that, too. And when she vanished as soon as was safe, Peter didn’t look too hard.)
