Merry Thursday my doves! It is I, classics_lover, your host. Given the success of my previous Reddit themed post this week is going to cover different subreddits. Thursday's theme is TIL or Today I Learned. Prompts can be anything to do with characters learning new information, weird facts, or anything from the TIL subreddit. Have fun!
Just a few rules: No more than five prompts in a row. No more than three prompts in the same fandom. Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet. No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here. If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name] Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Star Trek (any tv), Jean Luc Picard +/ any, TIL there is a fish that can survive without food and water for three to five years. (There's a reason Jean Luc has his lionfish)
+ Assassin's Creed, Ezio Auditore +/ Leonardo da Vinci, TIL Leonardo da Vinci wrote “all the branches of a tree at every stage of its height when put together are equal in thickness to the trunk”. In 2011 Christophe Eloy investigated and found that trees which followed Leonardo's rule would be the best at resisting wind-induced fracture. (Ezio is so proud of his nerd bff)
+ Dragon Age, author's choice, TIL if your name is Isabella, you have lifetime free admission to the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum in Boston, MA, with 2,000 artifacts from around the world owned by a woman addicted to collecting. In 1990 a $500 million (unsolved) art heist left behind empty frames on walls, which still remain.
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2021 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.
