Hello, everyone. I’m squidgiepdx and today's theme is "Say it again". Now, this is going to be a little different because you can interpret it however you want. Maybe you can with the literal, like Steve McGarrett getting down on one knee asking Danny Williams to marry him, and Danny replies, "I'm sorry, can you repeat that?" But there are other ways of interpreting this, too. You can either re-tell a scene from canon from another person's POV or maybe you can re-tell a story from a fic that's already been written - by you or someone else. Or maybe you reimagine a fandom but with new characters (creating a fusion). Or finally, you can steal another person's prompt that was for one fandom, and repurpose it for a different fandom. Maybe you tell John Sheppard's side of the story from the SGA episode The Shrine. Maybe, again going with John Sheppard, you tell the story of one of Finn McKay's exploits on the farm from Sheafrotherdon's classic "Iowa Verse". Or maybe you completely re-cast Captain America or an MCU movie with characters from The Losers. Whether it's canon or fanon, prompt something that can be taken from another person's point of view, a new scene entirely, a fusion, or a prompt that you stole from another fandom.
Just a few rules: No more than five prompts in a row. No more than three prompts in the same fandom. Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet. No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here. If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name] Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling... + Stargate Atlantis, John Sheppard/Rodney McKay (+Team?), Rodney shows up after being missing for a few days, repeating the same phrase over and over. + Hawaii Five-0, Steve McGarrett/Danny Williams, Falling for a fellow chef in a cooking competition (stolen from here) + The Losers, Jake Jensen/Carlos "Cougar" Alvarez, A Captain America fusion but with The Losers characters
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2022 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.
