It was a phrase that struck fear into the heart of men far bolder than Bobby. Add to that the fact that it was a male demon that uttered the dreaded phrase.
"I want another baby." Crowley said again, in case Bobby hadn't heard.
"What.. what are you on about now?" Bobby hoped that he was wrong.
"Do you know how long it has been since I tasted baby flesh?
It used to be part of the deal. One unbaptized baby, freshly killed and still steaming just to get the attention of the demon you were after.
Then people started to baptize babies as soon as they were squirted out.
So the upper-level guys changed it so you just had to spill any blood to get us up there, and half the time we aren't even offered part of the kill." Crowley sulked as he stared out the window.
Bobby was a bit sickened by the thought of willingly eating a baby but he didn't want a sulky lover so he did his best to appease Crowley.
"Well I don't know about getting a baby just for you to eat but I suppose I could slaughter a chicken for you." He offered.
Crowley smiled and made himself a drink.
"Call me when the bird stops running around." He said as he sat in Bobby's favorite chair.
Bobby grumbled as he went to find a live chicken.
Crowley smiled as a lower level demon appeared on the road fifteen minutes after Bobby drove off. He lifted the take out lid and breathed in the deliscious scent of fresh killed baby flesh.
Then he destroyed the other demon.
Crowley was careful to clean up the mess he made and dispose of the incriminating evidence before Bobby got back.
"You know.. I think I'd rather have steak tonight." He said as Bobby hauled the caged bird from the truck.
"Well either you provide it or you're getting chicken." Bobby said. "I ain't going back out again."
When Bobby stormed into the house he found two perfectly cooked ribeyes plated on the table, each with a baked potatoe and a beer.
"No thank you? No 'my that looks delicious'?" Crowley taunted.
"Shut up and eat.. Idjit." Bobby said gruffly.
He did run his hand over Crowley's back as he passed.
Filled.
