Inspector Lestrade looked at the man currently lying at Mrs Hudson's feet. "That was remarkably quick thinking," he said. "For which I am very grateful." The gun which the man had recently been holding had slid across the floor and was resting in a corner of the hallway.
"Oh, Inspector," Mrs Hudson replied. "With Mr Holmes living here, it always pays to be prepared. And I never know when I'm going to need a rolling pin."
"But you weren't making pastry."
"I don't use this rolling pin for my pastry. This one is too battered to produce a smooth surface anymore."
