The door clicks shut, and Xander's alone in the apartment.
Which was supposed to be a good thing, except now he's sitting there in the faint residue of sex and awkwardness.
Not that the sex had been awkward. The sex had been -- well, a lot of things. Unplanned, unexpected, frantic, rough, the hottest thing ever, but certainly not awkward.
The part that came after, however... The part where he and Spike came to their senses, and hurriedly dressed, and each chose a spot on the wall to stare at while they mumbled embarrassedly at each other -- Xander was, at least, pleased to hear that Spike sounded just as mortified as he did -- yeah, that part was bad.
"It was...a fluke," he'd said at last.
"Right," Spike agreed readily.
"Just a, a one-time...thing. A mistake. Not, not that I didn't enjoy it!" he added quickly. At that, Spike actually looked away from his spot to leer at him briefly.
"Right," the vampire said again. "No need to get all worked up about it like a couple of bints. 'Sjust sex."
"Right," Xander breathed thankfully, thinking maybe, eventually, he'd actually be able to look Spike in the face again. And so, after just a bit more nervous chatter, Spike left, exiting in a swirl of duster. And that was a good thing.
At least, it was supposed to be.
Except now Xander's sitting here, and some strange part of him wishes Spike had stayed. Wishes it didn't have to be just a one-time, mistake, thing.
Christ. It wasn't enough that he'd slept with Spike -- slept with Spike and enjoyed it -- but now he's thinking about --
A knock at the door interrupts his circling thoughts. He jumps up to answer it, and there, leaning against the doorframe, all black leather and blue eyes and grinning mouth, is the subject of said thoughts.
Xander groans inwardly. "Spike. Really. It was no big deal--"
"Right," Spike drawls. "No big deal. I was just wondering...d'you wanna do it again?"
[Aack, I don't even know if you're a BtVS fan, but hopefully someone will enjoy it! XD]
