Sam Winchester has grown up surrounded by mysteries, by the things that go “bump” in the night. He really doesn’t mind it most of the time –
Until he meets the Trickster.
The Trickster kills his brother every day for over a hundred days, and then lets everything go back to normal – as normal as it ever gets for a Hunting life.
And then, well, he finds out that the Trickster isn’t even a Trickster, but the Archangel Gabriel.
So he stands up to his full height – towering over Gabriel’s vessel – and tells him that, from this point on, there will be no mysteries, no lies, and no more fucking tricks, or so help him, he will find a way to off the very Messenger of the Annunciation.
To his surprise, all Gabriel does is stand up on tiptoe, kiss him, and disappear in a snap of fingers and a flutter of wings.
