“Steve we need to look for a house with an extra bedroom.”
“Is this your way of telling me I have too much junk?” Steve asked as he ran his fingers through Christian’s hair. They were relaxing on the couch, just happy to be home after months on tour. Christian tilted his head, where is rested in Steve’s lap, leaning into the touch.
“No, you don’t have too much junk…well maybe a few too many ducks but that’s not what I mean.” Chris replied as he moved to sit up only to be stopped by Steve who shifted to move his hand from Christian’s hair to his chest pinning Chris into place.
“Well if my ducks aren’t the problem what is?? I mean you always loved this house, what’s changed now?” Steve asked, playfulness changing to concern.
Christian’s eyes grew wide. “Steve, nothing has changed..I love this house…our home. It’s just that we are going to need more room if there are three people living here.“
“Chris we are not moving just because you opened our house up to one of the guys. We’ll move some of our stuff into the basement. When are they arriving and how long exactly is our houseguest going to be staying?”
“Sometime within the next six months, hopefully the next 18 years, and I had some help in the inviting.” Chris said grabbing Steve’s hand and sliding it from his chest down to his stomach.
Christian watched as Steve’s expression changed to wonder as the words sunk in. “A baby?” Steve whispered, as if afraid to say the words out loud.
“Yeah, a baby….our baby.” Chris nodded.
“You know we could always add on to this house.. maybe bigger living room and kitchen downstairs and a couple of rooms upstairs.” Steve said.
“You wanna add two rooms?” Christian questioned.
“Yeah, we might as well plan for the future while we are at it.” Steve replied his smile growing impossibly wider as he leaned down to kiss the man he loved.
