Good morning, everyone! It’s Tuesday today, and it’s
meteorfire here with the latest theme.
Today it’s all about Time Travel. Did someone fall into the past? Has a dastardly scientist figured out how to travel to the future? What about testing the limits of the Grandfather Paradox?
Here's some quick examples:
And as always, remember to follow the rules:
Have fun, everyone!

Today it’s all about Time Travel. Did someone fall into the past? Has a dastardly scientist figured out how to travel to the future? What about testing the limits of the Grandfather Paradox?
Here's some quick examples:
- Doctor Who, Doctor, he encounters the last person he would expect to encounter—himself as a child.
- The Walking Dead, any, He (or she) thought this day would never end. And then it started all over again.
- The Walking Dead, Sophia, one minute she’s lost in the woods, and the next she’s miles away and back on the highway watching Atlanta burn
- Merlin BBC, Merlin/Arthur, A spell sends them back into the bodies of their younger selves—and its irreversible. All they can do now is make things better. (Whether or not Arthur knows about Merlin’s magic is optional, but make the older selves from season 4 or hypothetical later seasons)
- Sherlock BBC, John, he seems to be living a real-life version of The Time Traveller’s Wife
And as always, remember to follow the rules:
- Only three prompts from a fandom
- Only five prompts in a row
- If one prompt gets filled you can leave a new one
- No spoilers in your prompts until a week after airdate/publication
- If your fill contains a spoiler please warn accordingly and leave space for the spoiler.
Have fun, everyone!

Date: 2012-01-24 08:53 pm (UTC)That would be fine, thinks Dr. Rodney McKay, if we were going through a Gate. I really don't want to know why this is happening after Sheppard touched that Ancient prism.
------
"Naw, it'll be fine!" Sheppard had grinned, and just reached right on in to the sarcophagus they had encountered as they explored yet another of the closed-off store-rooms in the outlying areas of Atlantis. Their attention had been drawn by the faint glow emanating from a slight crack in the lid of the massive metal sarcophagus. Removal of the lid had revealed a shining multi-faceted gem, the size of a cantaloupe, but with its prisms angled in such a way as to confuse the eye and distort perceptions of its true shape.
"No, now, I really don't think you should touch that --" Rodney had begun, but Sheppard had drowned him out.
"Come on, McKay - let's take this back and you can have a proper look at it. I wanna get back soon anyway - part two of the Lone Ranger marathon is on in the rec room after lunch -" and here he leaned in and deftly snagged the large gem. "Heh, nice hey?" He held it up to the dim overhead light. There was no doubt about it: the gem was the source of the glow which had drawn them into the room.
The object otherwise remained inert, and Rodney released the breath he didn't realise he'd been holding. "Yes, well, I suppose it is time to get going," he agreed.
"Atta boy-" Sheppard grinned, and then clapped him on the shoulder with his left hand, the shining gem still held up in his right. "Hi Ho Silver, awa--"
-- THE END (...or is it?)
Hey, this is my first attempt at comment fic - apologies in advance, I've only watched a couple of episodes of Atlantis but Rodney is my favourite character. I had originally planned for it to be a play on Rodney's full name vs. John Wayne's real name (Meredith vs. Marion) but I liked the Hi Ho Silver end a bit better. Any comments/criticism very welcome.
