It's getting late, and their bellies are hot and full with food as they trek back to Bradley's apartment. They're both wrapped up warm to ward off the cold - February has proved to be colder than December and January combined - and Colin is quite aware that they look like over-stuffed teddy bears.
The extra layers are necessary, though, and Colin is glad of them when the sky begins to rain down soft flakes of snow. Bradley groans as the first drop melts on his nose. "Please, no more!"
Colin chuckles, breath coming out in white steam. He agrees with Bradley's sentiment - there's already inches of snow at their feet, which they've been trudging through for the past ten minutes, leaving a fresh trail of footprints.
Colin bends down and grabs a fistful of crisp snow in his gloved hands. "Might as well make the most of it, Bradley," he suggests with a twinkle in his eye, and before Bradley knows it, a snowball hits him square in the face.
Bradley squawks indignantly, and then it's a flurry of mess and snow and revenge. They chase after each other, mercilessly throwing snowballs and trying to stuff the cold ice down each other's backs. It's like being ten again, Colin thinks as he's eventually tackled to the ground with a yelp.
"Hey," Bradley grins from above him, warmth radiating through their multiple layers of clothing.
Colin smiles back, eyes crinkled. "Hey yourself."
They kiss then, in the darkness, and the snow, and the cold, and no one sees because for now, it's still their little secret.
it's still their little secret
