"Well, what happened?" exclaimed Vernon as he drove, his eyes never leaving the road. "Did that war of yours end at last?"
"Yes" confirmed Diggle. "Isn't it marvelous?"
"Fantastic" he replied ironically. "Well, at least we can finally return home to our normal lives, so it's fine by me, right Petunia?"
"Yes, right" she confirmed, although she seemed absent, like she didn't know what they were talking about.
"How about you, Dudders? Ready to go back?"
Dudley did not reply. Actually, he hadn't talked ever since they told the Dursleys they could finally return to Privet Drive. He had remained quiet on the right side of teh car, trying to make himself look minuscule and insignificant; a task at which he failed miserably, of course.
"Is he ok?" he finally spoke.
Vernon tried to make sense out of his words. "Ok? Who are you talking about, Dud?"
"Harry" he replied, now looking at the two wizards instead of his father. "Is Harry still alive?"
Hestia hesitated before answering, a small smile on her lips.
"Yes, he's recovering in Hogwarts as we speak. He was, once again, the one who saved us all."
The car fell silent after the witch spoke. Dudley was lost in thoughts, looking out the window as he reflected upon what she had said. Hestia Jones was sure of one thing, though; out of those three, he was the most concerned about his cousin, the only one who had said goodbye properly, the only one who had asked them for information about his whereabouts, the only one who had somewhat cared.
It was only right that she answered his questions now.
"I heard that he will move in with the Weasleys" informed Hestia.
"So,he won't return to Privet Drive?" deduced Petunia, looking at her for once.
"That's correct."
"Good" declared Vernon, earning a frown from the wtich. "Now maybe we can get back to normality and forget this ever happened to us, right Dudders?"
Again, Dudley did not reply. He was internally wondering what had become of his cousin after all he probably had to go through, and if he would ever see him again...
