Welcome to Thursday. I'm still badfalcon - and thank you to cyphersushi for stepping in yesterday when I discovered on my lunchbreak that work have blocked LJ *cries*

Today we're going for a personal favourite of mine: kink.
Whether our characters are into a little bondage, a little spanking, full on S&M, maybe we have a foot fetish or indulge in pony play... today is the day for playing with the kinkier side of things

While we want to have fun we have to remember the rules:

It started with Danny's griping about the torn ACL, limping around as he cussed Steve out, proud and defiant despite the pain that would have sent almost anyone else home to recuperate.

Since then, there's been grazes, scrapes, bruises, sprains and the ongoing ulcer Danny swears that is entirely Steve's fault, and is in fact, naming it after Steve. Steve Jr, or Steve-arino, or Stevette. Danny hasn't decided, but what ever it is, it's being named after Steve.

Steve has a hard time fighting a grin whenever Danny starts venting about the latest one. It's not that Steve has a thing for pain, himself or other anyone else's. In fact, he's somewhat horrified at himself for it, he's never had this reaction to anyone else before, but he can't help the flush and the burst of tangled emotion over it.

Every cut, every scrape, every bruise on Danny these days, he got because of Steve. It's a physical map all over Danny's, marks left because Danny was guarding Steve's back.

Other people have left their marks on Danny's body as well, tiny scars, barely noticeable and forgotten. Rachel, Grace and Danny's family have left their marks on Danny's heart, invisible and unseen except for rare glimpses when Steve is allowed to see what lays past that shell of attitude that Danny wears like armour to hide those scars on a loud and exuberant heart.

It makes Steve want to growl and pin Danny down, explore those insignificant marks and scars, then cover them with his own, touching and tasting until the only ones that remain are Steve's. So that anyone who looks at Danny will know that those belonged to Steve. So that Danny will never, ever forget Steve, even if his daughter leads him away from Hawai'i again, that part of Steve will always be a part of Danny.

But he won't.

It'd be the fastest way to frighten even the stalwart Danny off.

And the only marks that really stay on Danny are the ones Danny chooses. The risks Danny decides are acceptable to take. No matter how often Steve is accused of rushing headfirst off into danger, Steve never wants to be an unacceptable risk.

So he watches Danny, furious whenever Danny is injured and in pain, but strangely pleased whenever Danny shows off new mark that he got from being around Steve like it's a metal or a badge of honour.

And if he wishes that Danny would mark Steve in return, that's no one's business but his own. He'll take what he can get.

His fingers curl tightly into a fist and he forces himself to breath, to get control. That's hat he needs, control, safety, the knowledge that everything is all right, that he's not going to be hurt.

Elizabeth is in front of him, untying him, and touching him gently, rubbing away the feeling of the ropes while Peter has pulled Neal against him, holding him lightly so that he can pull away if he wants to.

They sooth away his fears, they stroke his panic away. Their hands travel over him, rubbing and touching and caressing him until he's soothed into a state of relaxation. it's not fixed, his heart is still beating fast when he thinks about it, thinks about the ropes on his skin, the blindfold on him, but he's better.

"We need to talk about th9is," Peter says softly into his ear and before Neal can rebuttal, Elizabeth is giving her husband a look that clearly say "Not now."

He nods, willing to grant this because well, he can still feel Neal tense against him every so often as memories come flooding back.

Instead they spend the rest of the night curled together, Neal pulled against Peter and Elisabeth pressed up against his chest. They touch him gently, hiss him and tell him he's loved. They stroke his hair and entwine their hands with his. They tell him he's all right, he's safe with them and, after a long while, he starts to believe it.
