They had finally worked it out when it all fell apart. Life took a turn for the different and Kaylee was struggling to figure out what to do. She didn't know how to keep this a secret anymore.
She knew she should just get rid of it and the longer she kept it the harder it would be to get rid of it. But it was something she'd always wanted and she had finally had the chance with the man she loved.
"Simon," she said running her hand over his bare chest.
"Yeah hon?" he asked with a smile. He had such a sweet smile when he wanted too share it.
"Ya know how I ain't been wanting to rut for the past few months?"
"You know I said that was alright. We were going at it a lot for a while there," Simon said kissing her head.
"I gotta real good reason.."
"Can I guess?" Simon asked a twinkle in his eyes.
"I don't think ya'll get it."
"You're pregnant," he said putting a hand to her stomach.
"What? No fair. How'd you know," she said hitting his chest playfully.
"I'm a doctor and I pay attention. You haven't had your period and you haven't been drinking. Not to mention how much extra you've been trying to eat," he said stroking her hair, "And I want to tell you that anything you want to do is perfectly okay with me."
"I think...I got this funny idea about keeping it," she said watching him anxiously.
"I had a funny hope that you'd want to," he said giving her a gentle kiss before sighing, "And I'm glad. No matter what else happens, we're a family, you, me, this kid and everyone. We'll all work it out together. As the family we are."
