The Confessions of Dorian Gray, Dorian Gray/Any, He wants it so bad he can taste it.

Oh, Your Love Is Lost On Me (Dorian/Toby; PG13)

[identity profile] agirlnamedtruth.livejournal.com 2014-01-07 12:40 pm (UTC)(link)
“Please!” Dorian begged, aware that he starting to sound just as desperate as he had when Toby had ignored him. He didn’t pause to think that maybe this was another of his games, to prove some great point. He didn’t stop that maybe it was for the best, or better for him, or better for Toby. He just wanted it. He needed it. He could almost taste it already. He didn’t care for better or worse.

“No, Dorian,” Toby insisted, pulling Dorian’s hands away from his body and returning them to where they should stay, at Dorian’s side. Lest he waver. “We said once a week.”

“It’s been nearly a week,” Dorian argued, ducking out of Toby’s grasp and kissing him hungrily, like he could somehow devour him instead and still get the same high. He could. He could almost taste it on Toby’s lips; his blood.

Toby sighed, using the strength that drinking Dorian’s blood afforded him to shove him away. As if the strength was sapped directly from him, Dorian stumbled back, falling to his knees on the floor. Toby knew what was coming even before the tears started falling.

“I’m sorry; it’s for your own good.”

Toby got on his knees beside him, not bearing having to look down on him. He didn’t want to judge Dorian, not ever, not for the sins of his past nor the ones he would no doubt go onto commit. But he couldn’t deny what he saw before him. He wrapped his arms around his love, a creature of habits and constantly chased thrills. No love would ever fill the hole inside him, no drug would ever be strong enough but Toby knew he’d come the closest and for a while, he want didn’t believe it was because of the high. But even though the idea tore him apart, just as this rehabilitation was tearing Dorian apart, he was scared to let go of him.

“You do love me, don’t you, Dorian?” Toby asked, wanting the lie just for a little while longer.

“Course I do,” Dorian said with a ragged breath, his sobs coming to a screeching halt in the light of hope, a way to get what he wanted. “Of course.”

“Ok,” Toby relented; giving the only thing he knew would keep Dorian by his side for another night.

He pulled Dorian closer to him, breathing him in. Even though he was a mess and Toby could feel the guilt curling inside him already like some great beast waiting to strike, he couldn’t deny a part of him wanted him. A part of him needed him. A part of him could taste him already. A part of him didn’t care for better or for worse.

Leverage, Eliot/Quinn, they have a friends with benefits relationship so Quinn pretends he's not falling in love with Eliot

[identity profile] wendyr.livejournal.com 2014-01-08 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Quinn slipped through the door of the brew pub like a shadow and moved quietly across the room toward the bar. Nate noticed him first and made a beeline toward the bar, engineering a casual meeting. They'd become friendly since Quinn had helped them take down Latimer and Dubenich, and Nate was beginning to be able to tell when something was bothering him. The last few times he'd seen Quinn, he had appeared troubled.

He noticed when dark eyes settled on where Eliot sat in a booth across the room with two women. Quinn's posture changed almost imperceptibly and something flashed in his eyes before he turned away and ordered a beer.

"Run-in with some thugs?" Nate asked companionably, nodding toward Quinn's black and blue knuckles.

"Heavy bag at the gym." After he had taken a drink of his beer, Quinn continued. "I may have been a bit overzealous."

"Something bothering you?"

"Why do you ask?"

"Whatever it is, you took it out on a punching bag and your poor hands paid for it." He took a sip of whiskey and met Quinn's eyes. "And you look sad. You think you're hiding it, sure... but your eyes give you away." Nate gestured for Quinn to follow and they settled into a booth.

"If I'm that easy to read, I might need to consider a career change."

"I've been around Eliot for a long time. You have similar tells." Nate smiled and signaled for a waitress to go ahead and bring them another round. "Something wrong between you two, speaking of Eliot?" It was common knowledge, at least among the members of his team, that Quinn and Eliot had a sort of 'friends with benefits' arrangement. Nobody had a problem with it.

"No...at least I don't think so. Why do you ask?"

"Because normally when you come into a room, you gravitate toward Eliot. Tonight, you went straight for the bar. And usually when you see Eliot you smile."

"Eliot appears to be occupied."

"He's just getting some more information from our newest clients. That's Susan and Lindsey. They just got married. To each other."

"Must be nice," Quinn muttered. "Knowing that the person you want to spend your life with wants the same thing.'

"I thought you and Eliot were doing the no strings thing."

"We were." Quinn picked restlessly at the label on his beer bottle. "Somewhere along the line I started to like the idea of strings."

"Does Eliot know you're in love with him?"

Quinn shook his head. "I haven't said anything."

"Maybe you should."

"I... I can't, Nate. I'd rather have what we have now than nothing at all."

"And I might think you had a point if I hadn't had some variation of this same conversation with Eliot every time one of you has left the other's place for the last three or four months."

Quinn stared at him, wide-eyed and speechless, until movement caught his eye. Eliot was waving from across the room and had started toward him and Nate.

"Tell him," Nate urged as he slid out of the booth. "I need to go talk to Hardison about the case. Good luck."

"Hey." Eliot slid into the booth beside Quinn. "What was that all about?"

"We need to talk, Eliot."

"Sure. What's on your mind?" Eliot watched him, mildly concerned.

"We can't keep doing this... this whole fuck buddies thing, Eliot. I thought I could, but it's just... I can't handle it." He
looked away, unable to meet Eliot's eyes. "I need more than that."

"Yeah?" Eliot smiled and draped an arm around him. "It's about time you got on board with that."

"It is?"

"It is. I think Nate's gettin' tired of listening to me vent about how I love you but I'm too damn chicken to tell you because I don't want to scare you off."

"I'm not going anywhere."

"Promise?"

"I promise."

Reese looked at Bear, watching him as he ate his donut.

"The dog's giving my donut the same sort of expression that I give Finch," he thought. "He knows he can't have it, however much he looks longingly at it. If I pick up a donut Bear will come running without a word from me; and I'll do the same for Finch, he doesn't even have to call me, and I'm there. Although I don't drool. At least I think I don't. And, every day I eat a donut and Bear comes as faithfully as ever, knowing that he won't get anything, but ever hopeful that maybe this time he'll be lucky."

Reese stood up and threw the last crumb on the floor for Bear. "That's all there is," he said, "a crumb."

(Though I don't say I still love you .. their song Eight Letters from Progress does and this is the opening to that relationship once more.)

Time makes the heart grow fonder.

Robbie thought about him … often. Yes he saw him, in fact, Mark was the only one he kept in contact with over the years. Those long years of making Take That suffer with his words. Those years that he won awards and gained platinum albums.

But Mark held himself.

What they had could not be, at least not as the way things stood, between Robbie and the others. Always the peace maker.

As time wore on, Robbie did lose sight of himself, got in more problems when left to his own devices, or vices, for him. Finding anonymity in L.A., Robbie retreated into himself. Yet, he wanted, wanted to know what he once had, the security, the friendship.

When he got the call, saying they were in L.A., he finally let his guard down and said yes.

Teen Wolf (TV), Derek + any Hale, I’d give away my soul to hold you once again

Fill - Mama's Boy

[identity profile] rebak1tten.livejournal.com 2014-01-10 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, so he’s a mama’s boy. He’s been called worse, much worse.

There were good and bad things about being a middle child. Good, because he never had to be the first to get permission for anything. An older brother or sister had taken care of the hard work in getting approval to stay out late or learn to drive the car (just around the preserve, but still). And bad, because he was never the first to do or get anything. Of course, he had hand-me-down clothes, toys and books. And when he brought home his first “special recognition” award from the science fair, it was put on the mantle next to the one his brother received two years previously.

But being in the middle is good when you want to blend in. He likes being able to hide among his family and doesn’t mind baby-sitting for his younger siblings and cousins. And he likes helping his mother -- running errands, helping clean up the yard and doing other chores. Sure, sometimes it’s annoying when his older brother or sister say things like, “Don’t worry about it, Derek; it’s alpha stuff.” Or the time his friends came over to pull him into a baseball game while he was babysitting and elbow deep in poopie diapers. But he earns his mother’s smile and kiss on the forehead.

When he’s in the kitchen after dinner, doing the dishes, listening to the rest of his family studying or bickering or watching TV and his mother comes in and hugs him from behind, saying “Thank you, Derek,” or “You’re getting so tall!” it’s worth all hassle and teasing.

And he’d sell what’s left of his soul to have just one more hug, one more time.

Any, any, pining for the fjords

Mini-Fill - The Big Bang Theory

[identity profile] evil-little-dog.livejournal.com 2014-01-07 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"How can a bird pine for the fjords?"

"It's a comedy routine, Sheldon!" Leonard rolled his eyes.

"But it's silly. Birds don't pine. I don't think birds are smart enough to have emotions. Well, aside from knowing they should eat, and defecate, and procreate." Sheldon pursed his lips.

Raj offered, "What about parrots?" I've heard parrots get depressed if their owners die."

"Parrots bite." Sheldon wrinkled his nose, recoiling. "And roosters peck." He shuddered. "Lovey Dovey aside, birds are awful."

"Lovey Dovey?" Raj asked Howard. Howard shrugged his lack of knowledge.

Sheldon snapped, "I'm just saying birds can't pine!"

"Eat your noodles, Sheldon, and let us watch the show," Leonard groaned.
