Tuesday: "What’s worse than wanting something, besides knowing you can never have it?"

Today's prompt is: Pining.

Finally requited or not, mutual or one-sided, you decide.

Some simple rules:
+No more than five prompts in a row.
+No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
+If one of your prompts is filled, feel free to prompt again.
+No spoilers in the prompts.
+If your fill contains spoilers please warn and/or leave at least three spaces.

Format for prompts:
Fandom, Character, Prompt
Fandom, Character/Character, Prompt

Examples:

Person of Interest, Reese/Finch, "What’s worse than wanting something, besides knowing you can never have it?"

The Professionals, Bodie/Doyle, sometimes he wished they'd never been partnered.

Arrow, Oliver Queen/John Diggle, For once he's met someone seemingly impervious to his charm.

Not really your thing? Why not try to fill one of the lonely prompts instead?

Reese looked at Bear, watching him as he ate his donut.

"The dog's giving my donut the same sort of expression that I give Finch," he thought. "He knows he can't have it, however much he looks longingly at it. If I pick up a donut Bear will come running without a word from me; and I'll do the same for Finch, he doesn't even have to call me, and I'm there. Although I don't drool. At least I think I don't. And, every day I eat a donut and Bear comes as faithfully as ever, knowing that he won't get anything, but ever hopeful that maybe this time he'll be lucky."

Reese stood up and threw the last crumb on the floor for Bear. "That's all there is," he said, "a crumb."

I've been wanting to try writing PoI for a while, so this seemed like a great opportunity. Glad I didn't completely wreck it.
