The funny thing was, she was arachnophobic. This one fact was something that was well hidden and only one other person knew - and he took pleasure in exploiting it.
"I think we should have a team mascot if we're to be a proper superhero group." Tony said as they lazed about in Stark tower one night.
"Like what?" Steve replied, looking up.
"How about a spider?" Clint said, grinning.
He watched as Natasha squirmed lightly in her seat, but remained silent.
"Why a spider?" Tony asked, frowning slightly.
"Well a hawk would be too much trouble and there aren't really animals for the rest of you. Not to mention, Tash did close the big portal and save the world...sort of." Clint explained.
"That is correct." Thor said, nodding. "It is appropriate!"
"Well that's agreed then. We'll get a spider and keep it here, since this is where we all hang out." Tony said, sitting up straight.
Clint looked again at Natasha. "What do you think?"
She smiled. "I think that's very flattering. Thank you!"
As they all got ready to leave that night, Natasha caught up with Clint. They walked in silence for a while before Natasha began to speak.
"Tonight?" She said calmly. "You are going to pay for that!"
Clint stopped in his tracks before grinning and running to catch up with her. Totally worth it!
