Twisted Tuesday: Darkfic

A dreadful morning to you, comment_ficcers! Today's theme is darkfic. Now, I don't stick to the fanlore definition, which is that darkfic must involve violence only. To me, darkfic's also about exploring the darker side of human nature in all its forms, be that malice, rage, addiction, terror, vengeance, murderous impulses, lust for power, or cruelty. The fandom's good guys might be nice people usually, but what gets them out of control? Of course, this is also your chance to give the villains a say in the piece.

But darkfic need not be caused by other characters. What happens when magic or technology take on a life of their own and begin to seek control over their wielders? Or when a catastrophe or trauma turns a character dark?

The rules still haven't changed:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
No spoilers in prompts.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space.

Prompts should be formatted as follows:
Fandom, Character+/Character, Prompt

Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Dumbing of Age, Sal, she didn't reform after the convenience store
+ Any, any, there is an apocalypse, and a character's worst side comes out in their fight for survival.
+ Animorphs, Tobias, seeking vengeance on his aunt and uncle

Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Visit the lonely prompt archive and brighten someone’s day. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.

Disney, any villain, although they often lack one of these, put malice, intent and competence together and you get a heady and dangerous mixture.
