Dies Mercurii - A Picture Tells 1000 words

Hi, dudes! I'm doreyg, and this is day three of me! (...Please ignore that.) Anyhow, today I thought I'd break from the whole word theme and go for something a little different: Picture Prompts. Pick any picture and match it to a fandom/pairing/character!

Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.

On the day of his death, she knew he'd return. It was almost as if he spoke to her directly - Wait, I'll be back. She hoped she was mistaken, but still, when his body came to her one year later, somewhat decomposed, but still so much in love with her, she gave in, and danced one last dance with him.

Except it wasn't the one dance. It was once a year. He'd dig himself from the grave, come and find her, and request - silently - a dance. It wasn't terrible, dancing with his body. He was still incredibly graceful, though she didn't think too hard on how the bones - the only bits left of his mortal form - managed to hold together, not only to climb from his grave, but also to walk to her, and request his dance.

Even after she married, after she had children (who should've been his), even after her grandchildren were born, he came, once a year, for his dance.

Until, finally, she was too old, too crippled, unable to dance. She couldn't see past the reach of her hands any more, could barely hear. But she knew he would be coming, any day now.

This time, she'd follow him back to his grave, and nothing would separate them again.

It was in a Made-For-TV movie back in the day, and I can't even remember who was in it. I want to say John Schneider, from The Dukes of Hazzard? I thought the game was too much fun, and still am kind of annoyed that I never got a chance to play it.

She was wearing his shirt the first time she took his hand.

He remembered that, remembered the feeling when her hand slipped into his. Her skin was softer than his, not callused even though she knew he was efficient at killing with her hands. That was why the moment stuck in his head. Natasha was the Black Widow. She didn't do physical comfort. She didn't touch without it being part of a mission.

Only she was touching him, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze to say he would be okay, that she was there, that she cared.

No, that was going too far, but still...

She was holding his hand.

And it felt good.

Goofy characters are fun. I was just going through most of the couples I've been writing for and was like, "no, she wouldn't do that, he wouldn't do that," and so on. It was funny because I think there was one person in each pair that just wouldn't without AU being involved, though one might work as kids and maybe Tony/Pepper as adults, though I'm still trying to convince myself that Pepper would agree. :)

Strangely enough (it's a long story) I have done a similar search, looking for hands, and I know what you mean. This one is nice and kind of unique.
