The taser she carries isn't enough to soothe his frayed nerves, but not having gone through what he saw in WWII and before, or even in the present day, in the neighbourhoods and boroughs of New York City, Darcy exhibits total fearlessness and refuses to be a damsel in distress (except in a special roleplay they concocted together, late one night after she had a little too much to drink) no matter how much he wants to be a knight in shining armour for her.
