“Yeah, so we good here? I’m good here. I’ll just, uh, take grab my things and get going--”

Lynn’s sister grabbed her arm and stared at her in disbelief. “What do you mean you’re leaving? You can’t leave now, Lynn when you just got back home.”

She sighed, afraid this might happen if she returned home but it wasn’t like Lynn intended to. It just so happened that the group of rogue sword fighters she worked with were contracted to help the royal army.

How was Lynn supposed to know her sword would strike the general and slice his head right off? It was all chance, really. None of it mattered, though. She might have been outed to her group and the family recognized her but she wouldn’t stay. Lynn couldn’t bring herself too.

“I can’t.”

And with that Lynn walked away-- again.
