Tuesday: Broken
Nov. 10th, 2015 02:46 amHey, guys. I’m
dreamsofspike and today's theme is "things that are broken". This one's got a lot of room for interpretation. What's broken in your story idea? Someone's heart or spirit? Trust, a relationship? Promises, toys... even a person can be broken. Interpret as you will.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
If your prompt or fill contains anything that can be a trigger for the reader, please add a warning for that to give the reader the chance to decide if they want to read or not.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing. Use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Supernatural, Sam Winchester/Gabriel - putting him back together after he falls
+ The Voice RPF, Blake Shelton/Adam Levine - one cheated on the other
+ White Collar, Peter Burke/Neal Caffrey - Peter doesn't realize how broken Neal is until the first time they get a little kinky in the bedroom, and it ends in tears
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2015 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Date: 2015-11-10 11:40 am (UTC)Nobody without a whole lot of issue gives an unconditional "Yes" to everything their partner might possibly want. Even the most extreme partners he's had, ones who begged him to do things so far beyond what he considered a sane limit that he'd ended up having to safeword out of the scenes, have had their absolute No's.
No watersports. No binding. No crossdressing. Hell, even something as seemingly innocuous as kissing was a past partner's no-go. They'd all had something.
Neil had said yes to everything Peter could think of, even those that Peter would rather slit his throat than do, and yet it wasn't until he'd nearly finished tying Neal up that he realized Neal was practically hyperventilating under his hands. That he understood that there was something seriously wrong with a man willing to give an unconditional yes.
"Damn." Peter said succinctly.
Peter stripped the bindings from Neal as quickly as he dared then gathered Neal close; rubbing his back and murmuring instructions to "Breathe Neal. In and out, that's it".
Peter knows they need to have the conversation about the whole point of them agreeing to the safeword in the first place and how if Neal doesn't use it then they can't play like this even though Neal's been begging to do this for months. That and he needs to know why being tied up by Peter, when Neal's ended up bound before on cases, had so thoroughly freaked Neal out.
But Neal's crying, though Peter can only tell because of the wetness soaking through his undershirt, and all Peter wants to do at this exact moment is just comfort Neal until he falls asleep.
It's almost as foolish as taking that unconditional yes at face value but Peter decides to put the conversation off until tomorrow.
Not a fill, but hopefully I will be able to fill this request...

Date: 2015-11-10 01:45 pm (UTC)Should have severe emotional abuse, but not name-calling; aside from when Kennedy finds out that Will's got another 'girlfriend' (if you could call Aluwyn a girl, she's more of an evil spirit in the guise of a woman of a sort) on the side: BOY would she call her angry names then!
Hint: make this a source of tears. Good advice: have Kennedy crying by the end of it. I don't hate her, but this should show it as misbehavior in the extreme. I totally support her telephoning her sister when she's crying about her girlfriend dumping her so she can continue to see that 'demon' as Kennedy would call Aluwyn... that would be a brilliant touch.
I may take this up too, but I want to see what other people can make of this.
Cannot have: Kennedy enjoying this.
Must have: Upset Kennedy. (Cursing is something she might do about this affair her woman is having.)

Fill: The Walking Dead (TV) SPOILERS FOR CURRENT SEASON Rick/Jessie
Date: 2015-11-10 02:25 pm (UTC)Rick hadn't expected to kiss Jessie. He'd meant to just ... there was that word, the one that bounced around his brain sometimes, the one that Lori had said was important, the one Shane hadn't really understood, the one that he could see in Glenn and in Maggie.
He'd meant to comfort her, but her closeness and her hair (soft; he'd forgotten that) and the smell - faded clothes wash with the iron tinge of dirt and yeah, blood - all of those things had drawn him in and he couldn't help it, and she seemed to be okay with it, her hand on his face.
The stickiness of the night was oppressive and awful and he knew no matter how many showers or how many times he washed he'd never get the stink off and he worried about Daryl and Sasha and Abraham and just where they were and fuck Glenn he needed to help find him and this place could be home, but the growling of the herd outside the walls was too loud so he kissed Jessie harder, and yet.
He still couldn't forget.
But he did it anyway, and when she snatched at his hair, all the memories sucked him down into the kiss, all of them, everything, from the beginning of all of it till now.
The groaning and growling of the dead outside the wall grew louder and he relished it, understood it, as the summer bugs buzzed around the incongruous light outside the garage.
