Their on the run from an unknown enemy, without hope or backup and yet they’re the most alive they’ve been since Tosh and Owen died. They’re an odd little family stealing what they need and more or less planning world conquest.
Rhys and Gwen are giggling in the corner most likely talking about their house, the baby, or just goofing off. Ianto envies them that normality. He wishes normality with him could be enough for Jack but this crisis has proven the futility of that wish. Jack is only happy when he’s in the middle of a crisis and Ianto knows that if he stays with Jack, stays in the battle to save the world, he’s going to be separated from Jack.
He wishes that wasn’t the case. HE wishes that he could stay with Jack forever but he’s willing to die as long as every moment until his last is spent with Jack.
