Lindsey reaches up to wipe angry tears from his eyes only to jerk his hand back to the steering wheel before it reaches halfway to his face. He knows Angel is watching him leave town from some perch that allows him to play dark avenger and half-formed thought’s of making the bastard feel guilty stay his hand. So instead of dabbing his eyes he stares angrily at the road and wallows in his feelings of betrayal.
He and Angel had been together for 6 months and then Angel went and pulled this stunt. He’d done nothing to deserve exile whatever rumors Angel had heard and he can’t help but hoping that Angel will learn that fact. However, he hasn’t been able to decide if that hope is linked with his wanting to throw Angel’s apology back in his face or his hopes of returning to Angel’s bed.
Either way nothing is likely to happen. Angel is too sure of his own righteousness to ever apologize to Lindsey.
